I have a 1999 Isuzu Trooper s and I ordered a keyless remote for it online. I received the remote with programming directions. I have replaced the battery in the remote and have also tried to program the remote at least 10 times and nothing happens. Yes, I am following the direction correctly. The directions state that if for some reason the program did not get completed that the doors would lock and unlock 3 times to let you know that you need to retry the program. It doe not even do that. It does nothing at all. What do I need to do to get this thing to work?

I did this. However, the first time, I didn't leave the door open at first. I re-read the directions, and opened the door, (leave it open). turn the key the 3 times, then close and open the door 2 X (leave the door open). Turn the key 3 X again, then close and open the door. (The locks started opening and closing themselves, like magic). Press the 'lock' button on the fob(s). Press the 'unlock' button. I didn't think it worked while I was inside the car, and was about to give up, when I went into the house. I had the thought to step outside and try it again. As I went out the door to go to the car, I decided to press the button to try it. Lo, and behold, it was programmed! Don't give up! Kari I did this.
