These were still early times for the then new...HEI ignition...The factory was using a 60 mm gap...most mechanics used a 45 mm gap, as the 60 mm was proving to wide for peak performance...I highly recommend the 45 mm gap on your spark plug gapping tool...be sure the electrode is still perfectly straight with the tip when measuring...:)

1979 Corvette no spark to plugs, new coil, ignition module, cap, rotor, plugs and wires... was running before tune up

Have you ever heard of the "mechanics rule" that says if it ain't broke don't fix it? Put the old coil and module back in they're not part of a tuneup because they can last for the life of the vehicle or not lol. I hope this helps. Take Care.

I have a 1979 Chevy c10 truck I hooked the battery up wrong +to- the fuse box smoked for about 3sec.now the truck will not start I looked at my no.1Plug spark was pink.I run a HEI by MSD I replaced the...

Sounds as if you may have blown a fusible link. These are sections or wire hidden in line with major hot feeds to protect the rest of the harness and usually located near the battery + or near the big feed to the starter. When you say the plug is "pink", do you mean the spark seems weak? Test voltage getting to ignition switch.

Why after it did the tune up on my buick rendezbouz it starter misin up

A tune up consists of changing distributor cap and rotor, wires and spark plugs. I would check to make sure the wires were replaced properly in the correct sequence and were tightly connected to the spark plugs and distributor cap. Next, if they are are tight, I would make sure wires are not touching anything that could ground them out. Looking at them at night with the lights out sometimes reveals a stray spark grounding out on the engine. Besides making sure you seated the rotor into the cap, I would finally check each plug for the proper gag...they don't come pre-gapped anymore. Hope this helps.
