2005 Cadillac SRX Logo
Posted on Dec 20, 2010

I have a 2007 SRX V6 that is exhibiting the following problems. The Rear Wiper wont work, and when i switch it on, the light inside the hatch starts to blink. This light also starts to blink when i turn on the defrost or put the car into reverse. My theory is that all of these components are wired together, and that there is a short somewhere. My initial instinct was to blame the wiper motor, but now I'm not so sure. Any suggestions?

2007 Kia Sportage Front Wheel Drive 4 cyl, Automatic. Rear window wiper suddenly failed. Power to motor checked and confirmed, but once it is mounted, it quits. New motor mounted, same problem. All fuses...

Not sure about your car, but on my Chrysler mini van the same problem happened. The problem was not the motor but the body control module. The unit had 2 relays, but the BCM actualy controls the unit. To replace the BCM was $450. I bypassed the problem by installing an on/off switch inside the car and activated the motor by by passing the BCM at the relay. That was 3 years ago, still works great. Your BCM may be the problem. Check the schematics of the relays and try doing the same.

2011 CADILLAC SRX WILL NOT START. LIGHTS AND REAR HATCH WILL OPEN SO DOESN'T SEEM TO BE THE BATTERY???

Try jump starting it from another car. or that thing should have a volt gauge while trying to crank it if it drops lower then 11volts it wont start. or if you can hook up a volt gauge to the battery if not just try jump starting it.

I have a 2007 Kia sportage 4x4 v6. And my rear wiper isn't working. How do I test it before I buy a new motor?

If you look close to the wiper motor, you should find a 2 wire plug. Unplug it. Connect a 12 volt test light across the 2 wires.Turn on the rear wiper switch with the key on + if it lights up, you need a new motor. If it doesn't light up check your fuse and remove the one going to r.wiper. See it it's bad and replace as necessary. Garcuda

Ford focus wiring

same thing happened to us.  My wife came home and said the rear brake lights were stuck on so I assumed it was the brake switch...not so. Took car for a ride and noticed rear wiper did not work and when I hit the brake the rear hatched opened and door locks blew out.  I started by looking at the wires in the gromet above the hatch and found almost all the wires were bare.  Therefore power was jumping  the bare wires and traveling back down the third break light and to the rear brake lights and visa versa.. a very dangerous situation.  The best that I can tell is the wires are so short in length that they pull and chafe every time you open and close the hatch...very poor design...   Note: we bought our vehicle brand new and some of the wires had electrical tape on them....seems mickey moused.

Rear windshield wiper connection

You need to open the rear glass from the rear hatch. Look inside where the glass latches to the rear hatch. There is a Phillips head screw that connects the rear inner plastic panel to the rear hatch, remove this screw. Now, in the strap that you use to pull the rear hatch down, there is a torques head screw, that holds this strap to the rear hatch, you need to remove this screw.
Start at one of the outer corners of the inner plastic panel and pull the panel away from the hatch. You will see the upper wiper motor in the right hand corner of the hatch. ther is one connector that is easy to see, you have to pull up on a plastic clip to remove this connector. Look for the rubber hose for the windshield washer fluid, it may be cracked or fallen off the plastic nozzle to the outside of the rear door.

Please the hose back on or replace the hose if it's cracked or damaged by the wiper motor. To install just follow the procedure in revers.
Good luck and hope i made some sense. Keep me posted, be glad to help out.

92 4 runner HATCH ISSUE!

Turn on the rear window wiper . Try to get the wiper arm off the glass. There is a switch that will not let the window operate if the wiper is on the glass.
