Kia sedona 2005 overheating problem. Started overheating when started to warm up van. temp guage went to normal while driving changed thermostat and now overheats all the time

Have your battery tested. If the fans ran all morning, too cool down your van it probably killed the battery. Also keep an eye on your temp gauge, and make sure it's not overheating. The temp sensor for the fans could also be faulty ; causing them to run longer than they should when you turn the van off.

the blue part covered in the pic is the sender unit for the fuel gauge.
use a old tooth brush not new as this is to harsh, and clean the strips on the sensor you can take this part off to clean all parts are just clipped on.

My 2005 KIA Sedona started overheating in Winter 2009/2010 and was loosing antifreeze. No leaks from the heater hoses or radiator hose. No pressure in the radiator either.

I had found a site where folks were discussing the same things and someone brought up the rear heater. Apparently KIA has run steel hoses running under the chasis to the rear of the van and these rot.

I looked under the rear at the wheel well and located the lines and they were wet with antifreeze. I traced the lines to the firewall and found where the lines were connected to the coolant system and bypassed the rear heater lines.

I then filled up the radiator and overflow tank with antifreeze and started the van. I rocked the van to get air to move out of the lines and kept adding antifreeze until it was full. then used the overflow tank to top it off.

your thermostat probably stuck closed.when you cooled it down,it opened again.change the thermostat.

most likely, replace thermostat .

OOPS ,big mistake ,did you turn engine over with a rachet first to make sure valves cleared pistons

My 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8s with 55,000 mi. blows cold air from the heater. Coolant not circulating in engine. Lower hose stays cool to touch. Both heater hoses cold. Changed thermostat - didn't fix it. Coolant not leaking or dirty. None in oil - no oil in radiator. Changed worn water pump belt - pump spins freely with no noise or resistance. Cooling fans come on after warm-up. Temperature gauge stays in normal range then jumps to hot and back again. Coolant good to 10 below - didn't freeze here yet. No other problems or repairs to car. Afraid to drive and make worse. Help!
