This can either be..

1. A broken fan (the electric motor is damaged and wont turn)
Test it with a vault meter, find the coupling where it plugs into the relay, and see if there is a vlotage going to the fan

2. The relay is broken
If you follow the fan wiring back to the engine, usually around the radiator it attaches to a relay, this senses temperature and send power to the fan. These can fail. Breakers yard for pennies for this, a few more pennies for a fan.

My fan is not running, causing my car to boil over anytime I have it running too long. :( What can we do to fix this? Also, the check engine light is on, my dad hooked up a scanner to it and we got a code,...

is the fuse and relay for the fan ok !! make sure the fans are ok, by jumping fan connector from positive on fan to positive on battery. negative on battery to negative on fan. if fan works it could be a bad coolant sensor, or a themostat thats stuck open, not allowing coolant to get hot and thats why the electric fans do not work. the coolant will not get hot enough if thermostat sticks open. it will by pass the thermostat and never get hot. have a good day !!

Bought 2001 Lumina.. head gasket was leaking. fixed that n noticed cooling fan motors were not running. Replace all 3 relays n ect n fans started working. Drove it two days n it started runnin hot pulled...

I had a similar problem. Is your temperature gauge pegged to the right as very hot? Or reads always cold, even when hot. If it is a 3100 motor their is a coolant temperature gauge sending unit under the air breather intake that is right next to where you replace the thermostat.

Get a haynes repair manual at a parts dealer, Amazon, or your public library.
On the Chevrolet Lumina, Monte Carlo, & Impala FWD 1995 to 2005 it's under section 3-8 on page 3-6. It goes into great detail, and it's too complicated to explain here. If your sensor is bad, but the wires and fuses are good then the fans won't run.

Your second fan only runs when the air compressor is turning, If your ac compressor is not running then the sensor will not have the passenger fan run.
You have to see if the fan motors are good and then the wiring is good, and no fuses blown. You might blow fuses so have extra blue ones if I remember right. Recheck fuses after testing.

The cooling engine on 2003 ford focus is not

Never hot wire a cooling fan on a computer run car. Check the relays fuses and resistor connector in between the two fans. They usually melt the connector. I fixed mine with two female spade connectors

My car running hot and my fan work but my connecter have shortage in it

This is a front wheel drive car. The only way to fix this is to bring it into the shop or replace the fan. For a temporary fix if you turn the AC on it should automatically kick the fan on. Hope this helps

Z28 95 running hot

Is the fan running or do you have an electric fan? If fan isnt running or never comes on no matter what you do it will never run much cooler. If fan is good then you could flush the radiator a couple of times and that will help but if fan isnt working it wont last long
