I notice when I come to a stop like at a traffic light, I hear a squeak from what sounds like the front passenger wheel. I had it inspected in June and they didn't mention the brakes, it passed the...

Disc brakes usually include a part called a wear indicator. A wear indicator is a small piece of metal attached to the brake pad that contacts the brake rotor when the pad material has been worn down to a certain level. When the wear indicator grinds against the rotor, it makes a squealing noise as you apply the brakes. This noise is a signal which tells you it's time to have your brakes examined.
In other words, noisy brakes aren't something to mess around with. If you hear that sound when you apply the brakes in your vehicle, have them checked out as soon as possible.
I hope this helps.

My yellow brake sign goes on indicating my brakes need to be change on my audi a4 2006 ,when they are only half used? What should i do?June 13th 2010.

One of your brake wear indicator sensors is probably faulty. With a scan tool you should be able to determine which sensor is faulty and deal with it accordingly.

How to change rear brake pads for a honda 2007 ridgeline

The 2007 Honda Accord is equipped with four wheel disk brakes. Disk brakes wear down and require regular maintenance. Worn brake pads can cause squeeling and grinding noises, as well as reduced braking power. Improperly maintained brake pads can cause damage to the brake rotors as well as brake failure. Save on labor costs by replacing your own brake pads.www.lightdeal.co.uk

How many miles are original brakes (2007 Chevy Impala)typically good for before needing replacement?

There is no set mileage, many factors come into play. Weight of car, driving habits, where you are driving (highway/city) all determine how long they will last.
However, one rule generally applies: You will go through two sets of front brake pads for every one set of rear pads. This is because the majority of a cars braking happens in the front. Most pads have wear indicators, softer metal that makes contact, and sound, when the pads are getting low. Keep your ear out for this strange grinding sound. It's time to replace the pads! Hope this helps.

Squealing sound - front driver's side brakes

This sounds like a wear indicator( a metal tab on the brake pad) is doing its job, warning you that the brake pads need replacement soon. you can bend the wear indicators away from the rotor so they won't make contact. This will stop the annoying noise. Replace the pads and check the brakes soon. Brake pads should always be changed on both wheels at thge same time, so change the other front pads also.

I changed the brakes how do I reset the brake lights on 2007 toyota prius

some vehicles have a sensor that attaches to the brake pads and when they wear to the point that the sensor touches the rotor, it'll wear the plastic off the sensor and touch the metal inside to trigger a replace brakes light on your dash. im not familiar with the prius's system, but if you had a wire going to your brake pads, you'll need to replace it. once the sensor is triggered, it's no good anymore.

At what mileage should the rear brakes be replaced? Is it common for the rear brakes to be replaced at less than 22,000 miles on a 2007 Sonata gls?

Most of the stopping power goes to the front of the car. You usually go thru two sets or sometimes three sets of front pads before you need to change the rear brakes. It sounds odd the rear brakes need to be replaced at 22,000. havee the front brakes been replaced before?
