Draw a picture of belt run before you take it off .unless you have taken it off and forgot how it went already in which case answer this and i will look in my alldata book for you
well i have scanned it but i cannot upload it ,sorry about that ,but check this out as i have had this before ,you bought the belt new so only two things will cause this problem one is it wasnt fitted right over the pulleys ,or you fitted a 6 tooth belt when it should have been a 5 tooth belt ,check all the drive wheels as had this before on a renault all the pulleys were 6 but the alternator was 5 ,and shredded the belt which jammed up the timing belt ,all down to me --i was not a happy bunney with that job all them new valves and gasket and the work i can tell you .
still cannot upload a picture sorry
Coli,
many thanks for your time and patience on this matter. New belt is on, but had to source a new tensioning bolt for the PS pp, siezed solid!!!
Whilst I have ur ear, bit of advice if you dont mind.
The car is running very lumpy at idle, and has some speed wander at idle also. It has also cut out when coming to idle after a run.
Was thinking of Ignition coil / leads as possible solution, would this be looking in correct area??
Once again, many thanks for your time and willingness to share ur knowledge,
Lou
the engine breather pipe its under the front manifold and the rubber has perished its a common fault ,cost about 7 euros thats all ,bit of job to fit as ford charge for taking the manifold off but a bit of patience and some long nosed pliers and 10 mins and its done ,coil and lead all ok they last for year s just change the breather pipes and i guarantee it will run right
