My AC/heater/defrost fan stopped working. No blowing, no heat etc. What is the cause of this and how can it be fixed? Is it a lot of money to fix? thank you.

25AMP FUSE BLOWS?
PULL THE AC COMP CLUTCH WIRE, THEY LOVE TO SHORT.
THE FUSE RUNS CLUTCH AND BLOWER SO I CALL CLUTCH ELECROMAG SHORTED
SAY WARM !!!!!
and sure doing that kills AC defrost mode. no clutch.

no car owned ever saved me money for 50 years.
why not diagnose it first and worry cost last. find the truth first
some failures are each to fix. HVAC topic cars.
well all you can do is 2 things.

• check fuses.
• get it scanned. many shops/stores do it for free.

blower spins but does it push(blow) air to any vents (MODES)?
blower works but fails on heater and cold to all vents or just some.
if the heater work and cold air fails on all vents
that can be A/C failure under the hood or the controls are stuck in heater mode.
there are many tests to find out if problem is in the dash or under the hood; , lots of tests.
the cause can be just a loose wire, or vastly more complex a evap core blown. (just did mine last week)$$$$$$$

I see this happen a lot especially to one brand of car (Design I guess) , what I found is that air cond drain blocks up and condensate builds up in the fan chamber this rusts the fan motor all up an it wont turn no more ,heat or Ac they don't make this an impossible repair to do , but it does take some perseverance and time + a new motor and don't forget to fix what caused it in the first place

the problems are most likely related sounds to me like the controler is defected replace the ac and heater head unit

There is a blender that controls the air flow to go through the heater core for heat, and the evaporator for AC. It very well could be stuck.

You maybe able to try and get it to get unstuck by running the cars AC and switching from heat to AC back and forth and see if it gets unstuck. Just turn it on full blast and go from heat to cool.

If that fails, then you may need to service it. There should be a Lever Marked VENT under the dash, usually by the Brake and other pedals on the Driver's Side. Close the VENT and that will stop the Air from coming in and leave the A/C Blowing through the outlets(Vents).

I also read this online if you have an electronic climate control. "On climate control press off and heat button and let go quickly. Then press automatic. The display will start rotating eventually displaying a code 025,125 , 024 etc. Then press defrost to stop. You may hear blend door operating atb that time. It worked for my climate control."

I had same problem
it was a blocked drivers side heater core.
