What's the number of teeth on the timing belt for 3s-fse engine

I know, , experience talks.
we buy new belt and the clerk gabs abox
1: wrong belt in box, last customer returned it like that.
2: clerk gave you wrong box used wrong engine table(GATES)
3: you told clear wrong and he did it wrong.
4: learn that some engines even same 1.6L displacement had 2 head types that year. or series of years.
my car here, has 3 belts sold for it, 2 are wrong, per above.
no belt brand told just 164 code (gates?)

OP never told it is a toyota , nor the year, wow no year.
3s-fse =1987 to 2000 year made. no car model told what can go wrong, answer ALL. that.
DOHC engine 2 cams. CR = 9.8 (3S-FC, 3S-FE, 3S-FSE)
2.0L engine 1,998 cc, 121.93 cu-in
step one make sure both belts new and used, laid top of each other have same number of teeth and pitch. (viewed) if not WRONG belt.
OOPS? (the new belt can be touch tighter.,old belt stretched be longer or even a wreck)
some models have VVT, in the head and may change the T belt USED, no car told no year, no VVT told.
1990 turbo?
1990 camry is gates T138
1990 turbo T125

if you buy a belt for the wrong 3s-HE engine you fail
learn what is there, first, under hood. exact engine
turbo or VVT or what, make and model and year not old.

Hi. i am really need help, i have just take out the timing Belt on my 1987 Toyota Camry then i replaced a new Belt and the Car would not started and i think maybe i set wrong timing belt because i forgot...

Don't crank that engine over is the first thing you do. Take out th eplugs and turn the engine by hand to it's marks. Take the belt off, check it for marks, yes, no? If no, how about the old one? Does it have marks on it? Match them up to the new one. and make marks, , turn the left cam over to it's mark, does it have two? Turn the other side over to it's mark. put the belt on, crank mark on the crank mark, cam marks on the cam marks, don't line up? It should, If the engine hits the valves, you will have to turn the cams at the same time by hand so they don't hit, don't force anything, if you get the belt on there without moving the engine, spin it around a couple times to make sure it stays on it's marks. I hope you didn't do any damage already by trying to start it. Hope this helps.

I just replaced the fuel pump on my 1987 toyota camry and it is still not delivering gas to start the vehicle can it be the fuel pump relay?

You bet.

Also check the timing belt. If the distributor is not turing the fuel pump also will not run.

Hope this tip helps.

My 87 toyota camry wont start has spark and fuel but turns over

does it have the 4 cylinder engine? if yes you could have broken timing belt witch opens and closes intake and exhaust valves. same for V6 engines.the belt must be replaced and engine crank and cam shafts retimed with new belt istallation. one to tell is when cranking the engine turns over kinda fast.

A 1994 toyota camry needs timing set how much will it cost

The question is a bit vague as the timing is controlled by a computer. If you have a 4 cylinder engine and have over 60,000 miles what you need to do is have the timing belt replaced. This casts between $300 and $400 in my area but I use independent shops, not the dealer.

If this timing belt is worn or breaks it will, not might, cause severe damage to the valves. The fix then is a new cylinder head and costs much more than a timing belt.

Leaking water down the side of motor from the head gasket

it can possibly be a broken gasket seal in your water pump, i recommend that if this is the problem replacing the timing belt and water pump at the same time. i have a 1987 toyota camry station wagon as well and the same thing happen to me, if its leaking from teh side, its most likely the waterpump which is located underneath the alternator and attatched behind the timing belt

Broken power steering belt

no your p/s belt just takes is spun by the crank shaft. if its not making noise when you turn the key, then you should check the fuses under the dash and under the hood for ign one of those might be bad.
