There is a harness that you unplugged for the rear tail lamp. Make sure it is fully pressed and locked. This is always the cause on jags for tail lamp failure.

Break lights and tail lights will not come on. Both sides. I replaced the bulb.

Brake light fuses should be in the "fuse box" under the hood.

Im looking for the fuse for the right tail light

You do not have a separate fuse for each side, if the left side works, replace the bulb in the right side that isn't working.

2000 jaguar xj8 tail lamps inop at times

It's most likely not a switch problem but more of a lose connction within the socket of the lamp. Apply some bulb grease and this should remedy your problem.

The next time you notice it isn't working, try tapping the body panel next to the lamp and see if the light comes back on. If it does....it's the bulb socket.

Right tail lamp failed

check all the fuses, if fuses ok, then check the wire at the light connection, the jag is really a ford along with its faults, common fault is the earth on the light and the light bulb holder also plays up

2000 Jaguar S-Type Tail Lamp Failed

I also have a 2000 Jaguar S type. I am having this same problem. I replaced the old bulbs with new bulbs. Look at the new bulbs you put it- did they fizz out immediately after you put them in? I didnt notice at first, but mine did. Look at the filament part inside the glass.

I think my problem is a short. I am getting it looked at this weekend to see.
