2001 honda civic ex ground wire was off, fixed that. but now the blower motor for heater and the cruise control will not work . On top of all that, the ecu has to be reset everytime you start the car or it will just crank, it won't start. Everything on this car was working great until the ground wire came loose. SOURCE: 2001 Honda Civic door lock

If there is nothing jammed in the barrel, you will need to pull apart the lining of the interior of the door, disconnect the power motor for that switch, then see if it locks by key, sounds like the motor is seized, of out of allignment, easily fixed with a second hand or reco motor, or witha simple adjustment. Good luck, hope it helps.

you could have a bad relay. Try googling the location of the blower relay in your particular make and model.

I have a 1997 Civic. My vents are stuck blowing out into my face but my main problem is, its not switching to my defrost at all. The control motor does work but no air is coming out at the top

are you trying to get heater working or A/C or just heater + defrost mode ( no whether there told)
well the HVAC is failing
it needs service.
the service manual covers this chapter HVAC.
The vent actuators can fail all these way.
fuses all good.
motor blower does spin fast, does it hear and felt on one of many vents. in recirc mode is best.
if blower is dead , or silent the blower on HIGH (is it)
on high the resistor block is BYPASSed.
the blower resistor block is bad or blower dead.
next mode motors (actuators)
causes aplenty
1: fuses blown. easy 20cent fix. fuse 17?
2: damper shaft jammed. (we hand turn it ,proved)
3: motor on shaft dead bad. (mode dead?)
4: controls to motor dampers bad.

1997
Mode control motor
Recirculation control motor
and blend motor, all; air mixture motor

the control panel as 5 switches for mode.
and 5 wires and 1 ground
we'd test all 5 modes to be sure the motor went to all 5 modes (eyes on motor)
if not, we'd turn pull mode motor make sure the modes an all be tuned by hand.
then if yes a news motor is needed.
the logic for the controller only shows each 5 grounds the line for proper mode.
the LED there can lie due to each mode switch has 2 switches for each mode. 10 total.
if some modes work , the ground is good.g402

Heater won't turn on sometimes, or turns off by itself and only works on High.

I can't diagnose unless you can do some testing? This is part of diagram for automatic hvac. At the blower motor, terminal B is voltage, terminal A is ground. Use a test light, check voltage and ground with hvac on, Have to check when problem is ongoing. If good voltage and ground with no blower action, suspect the blower motor is faulty. Of course, if your missing voltage or ground, have to track that circuit. Faulty blower motors may run intermittently. When problem is ongoing, hvac on, you can try tapping blower motor with screwdriver handle see if it starts running, if it does, I suspect the blower motor has a problem. Check hvac trouble codes, where applicable.

My heat has stop blowing. replaced blower, and heater on off switch. what else could it be?

LX? DX? EX? Hatchback? sedan? wagon?coupe? engine size? did you check the fuse? Fuse #19, 30 amps in the auxilary fuse box (your owners manual may show the location ,it may be near the blower ?). The Blue/White wire at the heater blower motor should be HOT (12v) with key on. If you ground the Blue/Black wire the motor should run full speed.

My 2001 Honda Civic EX blower motor won't blow, checked fuses under hood they are good

if u have a test light you can check and see if you have power at the blower motor connector. if so you have a bad blower motor if not you might have a poss short or bad resistor. you can always try banging on the motor to see if it starts working again

1991 Honda Civic Hatchback LXI - Broke HOT/COLD knob

The heater control cable may have broke. you'll have to go under the hood and find the heater control valve located on one of the heater hoses. The valve is mounted to the firewall and has the other end of the cable attached to an arm. Manualy open the valve by moving the arm toward the firewall untill it stops. The other issue is the blower motor only operating on low. Normally if the transistor fails the motor only operates on Hi, so lets look at the switch. Unplug the white 6-pin connector from the switch and with a jumper wire jump pins1&3 black wire & blue/black wire. This bypass the switch asuming there is 12volts on the blue/black wire the the fan motor will come on high. If it does the switch is bad. If it doesn't the blower motor is worn out or you have a bad ground. it is common that the brushes wear out in the motors over 150k. try this tap test. with the blower motor turned on try kicking the blower motor.this will cause the brushes in the motor to temporary make better contact untill you can get a new motor. -hope this helps

My heater is not working in my 2001 honda civic. Is it my thermostat?

Does the heater blow cold air from the vents or do you mean the there is no airflow from the vents? cold air from the dash vents when the heater control valve is set fully hot could be an air pocket in the cooling system. The radiator sits slightly lower than the engine causing air pockets to get trapped in the engine when you replace the coolant. you'll have to purge the cooling system to restore flow to the heater core. No airflow (blower motor inop) this could be a bad blower motor transistor. pin test the blower motor circuit.
