This fords have very comun problems with maf sensors geting contaminated, if you have not or can hear any vacium leaks, the problem is goin to be a conataminated mas air flow snsor (maf)
allow the engine to cold down for at least 15minutes and the remove the air filter hosing and inside has to have a sensor, clean the two liitle resistors inside with brake or carburetor cleaner, allow it to dry and reinstall it.
if this inf help please mark it as fixya ranking after you try what i said

The po171 code is more than likely a lazy oxygen sensor on the drivers side of veh it will be the upstream sensor as there are 2 sensors on each side of the engines exaust upstream being the first one inline eg farthest from muffler as fpr the po174 its the other side oxygen sensor eg passenger side upstream as well these sensors become slow in response time causing intermitent codes before changing these sensors try using highest octane fuel for the next 3 fill ups and change oil if u see no change in intermitent codes then go to local parts store and purchase 2 oxygen sensors both upstream and replace both
good luck

SOURCE: my check engine light came

This means both banks have a lean condition. Most likely if you have a 4.0 SOHC motor your upper intake is sucking in air at the orings at the bottom of the intake. These are really bad about when they are cold in the morning the shrink and let air get by and after the engine warms up the orings soften and seal off.

P2195 CODE ON 2003 FORD EXPLORER SPORT TRAC 4.O SOHC. I CHANGED OUT ALL THREE OXYGEN SENSORS, AS ADVISED, AND STILL COMING UP WITH P0171, P0174, AND NOW P2195. HAVE ALSO CHECKED ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS,...

Hello,
Very common concern with the Explorer, Explorer Sport Trac and Ranger with the 4.0l SOHC engine! The upper and lower intake manifold gaskets fail, causing vacuum leaks..It can be Extremely difficult to detect these leaks, because they only leak intermittently (usually in the AM after a cold soak)... As the engine warms up they seal back up! Sometimes the vehicle will idle rough, surge or stall after initial start up, then the symptoms will clear after it gets to operating temperature... Usually there will be no driveability symptoms at all, except the engine light coming on and setting lean codes.. The gaskets have been redesigned to correct this concern..
