I wanted to know what type of services I need done to my 2005 ford focus to keep it in good running condition.

Most of the dealers recommend Scheduled Maintenance Services at 30K, 60K, and 90K.
At 60K the coolant has to be replaced with a new one, to avoid a corroded radiator or partially clodged heater core. Radiator Flush. The air filter. The spark plugs has to be replaced with the original OEM. The transmission oil starts breaking at 30000 miles and has to be changed at 60K. This is the best insurance for the transmission of your car. It is optional but, it is recommended to flush the breaking system too. This protect the ABS system from corrosion. Do not forget to replace brake bleeding nipples with new one. They are cheap, and avoid costly problems in the future.
The EGR valve has to be inspected.
The last and most expensive service is the timing belt change between 60000miles to 100000miles.

How often should engine coolant be changed on a 1989 Olds Cutlass Ciera?

For most of the cars the Scheduled Maintenance Services has to be done at 30K, 60K and 90K. At the second Service at 60K dealers recomend the coolant system to be flushed. The inhibitors in the coolant starts breaking down, and the result might be a corroded radiator, heating core, and a partially clodgged heating core.
The transmission oil can't last for ever too. It starts breaking down at 30K and has to be changed at 60K.
It is a good idea to flush the braking system with fresh brake fluid too. The 60K service is expensive and it is a good idea to be done by yourself. It is not going to hurt your car if you change the rear differential oil too.

Does one have to change the timing belt of a Hyundai tuscon 2006 model. I

Scheduled Maintenance Services, for most Cars, has to be done at 30K, 60K, and 90K. Hyundai dealer recommend to replace the timing belt at 60K Service.
If you wait, one of two things could happen: Nothing, or the belt could break and you would be out thousands to repair the engine instead of a $400 hundred to replace just the belt. If it breaks, there will be damage done to the valves and various other internal components, which will not covered under warranty. The problem is that the Dealer would charge you between $700-$800 because they would also replace the water pump at the same time. Or you can buy the timing belt and change it by your self. To do so, you nee the Haynes Repair Manual specific for your car another equivalent.

What does it mean when your vw passat service now! light comes on? What service needs to be done?

The A/C in my 2006 Passat 2.0 T is not working consistently. It seems to quit giving cold air when the outside temp is the hottest. It sometimes works fine until the engine is warmed up-then starts blowing hot air. Any Ideas?

What does the 60k mile maintenance entail? how much it cost?

The dealer will get top dollar for anything they do, or possibly persuade you to do. At 60k, besides check this or check that, it is wise to do air filter every15k, max 30k. Fuel filter every 15k, max 30k. cabin filter every15k. Spark plugs these days can go as high as 100k. Serpentine belt at 45-60k. Coolant flush and fill every 30k, or every 2-3 years. Rotate tires every 6-8k. Oil and filter change every 3-5k. Most of that 700.00 is probably labor at probably $100/hr. to check brakes, check tires, check battery, safety check, etc., run tests, install new filters. All these dealers have checklists they establish to give you full security and comfort in knowing your car is safe and reliable.. You seem to know a little about it...it's the old saying, don't fix it if it ain't broke. At least discuss it with them, and then make an educated decision.

I have 60K miles. When is recommended transmission fluid change?

It should be done between 30,000 to 60,000 miles. 30,000 miles if you do lots of stop and go traffic like in rush hour and up to 60,000 miles if your out on the highway most of the time. (less gear change) As long as you service your transmission on a regular schedule, it should last you the life of the car. $100.00 service every 3 years is a good investment since a transmission replacement is around $2,300. Hope this helps and good luck.
