1988 delta 88 ,won't crank over, no dash oil, temp ,check engine lites etc, heater fan all dead. Headlights , dome and dash lights, radio work. Battery is good, starter cranks if cross terminals on soleniod . I thought ignition switch was bad so replaced it from a parts car that I have, same thing, , everything is dead that should power up when turn key on.Fuses all look good- is there a main relay , computer board someplace that is bad ? Any ideas of what or where to check things , Thanks Chuck

Check all of the Fusable Links

You will find green corrosion on the wires,
on either side, and most likely a broken wire

The car gets power from the fusible links on the starter. or the fuse box. follow the positive cable if it splits into 2 directions, follow the small lead and inspect any fuses you find.

My 1983 oldsmobile delta 88 runs til it heats up. Then it stalls out and won't start til it cools off. What could it be?

When it stalls out, if it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. A spark tester from the auto store doesn't cost much, you can carry it in your glove box. If the engine is hot, wear gloves.

With temp issues check the coolant temp sensor. How long since a tune-up, I'd also want to check fuel pressure. Check for applicable trouble codes. Your obd1, you should be able to check codes, yourself. You use a jumper wire between the A & B terminals at the data link connector, usually lower edge of dash between steering column and driver door. Turn key just till the dash lights come on, no further. The mil on the dash starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes.

I have a 2004 Kia Sedona. It will not start.

Hi Michelle, if this is a fully charged new battery fitted then the problem is the connection from the battery, check the earth strap is making a good contact on the chassis and the terminals are connected correctly and making a good contact with the battery posts!

IT costs nothing to have a load test done on the battery to check for a dead cell which your problems point to. While the engine is running the alternator will be handling the power requirement but the battery will not supply the power required to start.

1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (Vin "C") won't start, won't turn over

the 12 amp is for a jump start and the 2 amp is for a trickle charge which doesn't degrade the battery. i believe you have a loose connection either a loose ground cable or the positive cable to the starter check these and tighten if neccessary

97 voyager van headlights and dash lights not working

There is a body control module that may cause this issue, it has the ability to be tested, have that done first.
