Its the same thing except it says GMC on the front. The most common issues with either of them is ABS problems, wheel bearings, ball joints, intake gaskets, plugged heater cores, injector issues, fuel pressure regulators, fuel pumps, catalytic converters, wiper motors, window motors, 4x4 issues, and the list goes on.

I have an 03 Ford focus that was a mess of wires. I cleaned them up and accidentally tapped a ground wire to the hot and now my fuel pump doesn't come on and the starter doesn't crank. Got power to...

This is probably a bad TCM module that has a recall on it. Ford extended the warranty on this to 10yrs/150k miles so you should have no trouble getting a dealer to fix it for free if you are under the mileage limit. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2017/MC-10095866-2532.pdf

What kind of oil need this chevy lumina 1998 ?

Use a quality 10w30 oil. If you have over 90,000 miles use a high mileage version.

Burning way to much gas

Tire pressure, Dirty Air filter element, needs tune up, misfire, fuel leak, bad sending unit, etc... you need to troubleshoot logically. Are there any trouble codes? When was the last tune up? How big are your tires? What does it normally get for gas mileage? Etc..

My 2004 e55amg with 103,000 is burning a quart of oil every 400 miles. Not smoking and still has buckets of power..any suggestions why

A good engine shouldn't burn more than a quart every 1000 mi. So, 400 mi. is kind of bad as far as engines go. Probably the oil is blowing by the rings and/or there is a seal leak somewhere. The oil has got to go somewhere whether it leaks out or burns in the combustion chamber.

Maybe you could try a high mileage oil that burns off less easily.

Can a thremastat stuck open have low engine temp and bad gas milage

If the thermostat is stuck open it would eventually get hot after a while. It's like some people think you can remove the thermostat to keep the engine from getting hot so in theory it could for a little while, however it would eventually overheat. As for the gas mileage being bad yes if it was stuck open and was not warming up fast enough the computer would take longer to go into closed loop, meaning the engine temperature takes to long to heat up so it burns rich until it does warm up enough, however it would be a minor change of mileage say 2 to 3 miles to the gallon. Hope this helps.

How many more miles do you have when the fuel light comes on?

Depends on a lot of factors:

1. Gas mileage of your vehicle. If you get excellent gas mileage, 50 MPG +, you can go quite a way. But with a 98 GMC Jimmy, you're probably getting 19 MPG at the best.

2. How you drive your vehicle. The gas mileage means nothing if you are street racing and redlining your vehicle through every gear with the low fuel light on. You definitely won't make it very far like that!

3. The make and model of vehicle. There is no set national standard for when the low fuel light illuminates on a vehicle, so they vary greatly anywhere from half a gallon remaining to 2 gallons remaining. In newer vehicles, the ECU actually takes into account how you drive the vehicle and what speeds you typically go as to when to turn on the low fuel light.

For your specific application, I would say it comes on when you have roughly 1 to 2 gallons left which means that as long as you are driving in a fuel conserving manner you can probably make it about 30 miles or so before you'll be running on fumes. But that should be plenty of time to find a gas station right?!

Hope this helps!

1999 GMC Jimmy Running Hot w/ Engine coolant reservoir empty

I guess the burning question is , where is the coolant going.
Is this a 4.3 engine? How many miles does the vehicle have?
Has the intake gasket been changed?
I'm guessing a can of "Bars Leak" may cure your problem.
Let me know.
