When I did stop I notice that my belt was loose and the tension pulley was all broken up. That was the noise I heard, I have a lot of miles but the truck runs great. This is the first real problem I ever had with this truck. please show me how to replace the tension pulley. thank you 2004 GMC Canyon 3.5 L, 5 cylinders 123,000 mile

SOURCE: Power steering fluid leaking

It all depends on where the fluid is coming from. It could be a ruptured pressure hose, or a seal in the power steering pump. The 2 "dangers " are NO POWER STEERING and burning out the pump with no fluid. A short drive for repairs using " ARMSTRONG " will probably do no harm. Hope this helps

SOURCE: Lack of power when accelerating

You really should have a code check done. There are numerous items that can give you similar symptoms. Two places to look are the fuel filter (usually overlooked till they gum up, and the throttle position sensor (but test it first with an ohmeter. You will need a manual (vehicle specific ones are available at most larger parts stores and most of those stores also do code testing free)

SOURCE: I need to replace a serpentine belt on a 2001 GMC

it is decieving. if the tensioner has an extension of about two inches from the base, it takes a 15 mm to lift it, be easy, make sure the wrench is not going to touch anything as you release it after taking the belt off

SOURCE: 1989 - GMC Sierra 3500 4x4 has 2 issues: 1) dash

put a remote starter cycloid on the firewall that's hooked to the one on the starter to get rid of the having for it to cool in order start it. At least that solved my problem. As for the brake light flashing..well mine does too but everything works....it's most likely a short somewhere. The biggest problem is driving off with the parking brake set. As for the hood. My paint is fried as well. I think it's because there is no insulation installed under the hood. Who knows. Good luck

SOURCE: 95 GMC Sierra 4x4 350 5.7 rough idle problem

It sounds like a MAP sensor going bad. MAP is short for manifold absolute pressure sensor, it senses the manifold pressure and applies the right amount of gas with the right amount of ignition timing so the car runs and performs well if this does not work properly. It throws off the whole loop cycle for the computer, which in turn makes it run badly and get poor fuel economy. It can causes the engine to have a lack of power, combined with a loss of fuel economy. Poor take offs and sometimes an occasional stalling may occur if the MAP sensor is faulty and sending the wrong signals to the ECM.
Hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya.

What is the most common problem with 4 wheel drive on gmc canyon when it will not engage

It is activated by an electric Solenoid. Try jumping straight 12 volts to it and listen to see if it clicks. If not replace it.

There isn't one. There's two fuses for the turn signals. The flashing is controlled by the Body Control Module.

2004 mitsubishi outlander waterpump/timing belt issue.

If you know about timing belt driven water pumps.. you know that you have to reset your timing on the engine. If you think you can. Tear it down.. replace the pump. And go onto the internet and find that engine and ask for timing marks.. reset them.. and all will be fine.. hope this helps.

2004 gmc envoy. has a 6cyl and a serp belt. the center pully off set to the left (i think its a water pump) has a bad wobble and making a horrible noise. Not over heating and no leaks. should i just change...

If the fan is attached to it than it is the water pump making the noise and it will need to be replaced. If the fan clutch is not attached to it than it is either the idler pulley or the tensioner pulley. The tensioner is on the passenger side (left) of the front of the motor.

We need to replace a fan belt that broke. Does

You can do it. If it takes longer than 10 minutes something is wrong. If its a V8 make sure the tensioner is good, Fan belts rarely just "break" so check all the pulleys.
