My 2000 gmc sierra z-71 has started idleling at about 1300 rpm after driving for a while. when i turn it off and restarted it would idle fine for a while then start idleing high again. it is getting to where sometimes now it will idle high as soon as i start it. when it is idleing high the trans. does not shift when it normally does it shifts at a lot higher rpm than normal and shifts hard like it has a shift kit in it. any suggestions

I assume the check engine/ service soon light is on. Commonly the MAP sensor is the culprit, but can be TPS, CSS, even a buggy O2 sensor. Only way to be sure? (light or not) is to scan it.

SOURCE: I bought a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 No A/C. Where can I buy an AC KIT

You can get a A/C recharge kit at Auto Zone, Parts Source, or Wal-Mart. There are also a recharge canister with stop leak in with it, but this is only a quick fix for a while. Sometime in the distance future, your going to have to get the system Vacuumed to get the moisture out of the system that accumulates after a few years.
Good luck and hope this help, just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Don't over charge the system, you'll blow O rings or have a compressor failure.

Try removing and cleaning the idle control solenoid on the throttle body. They get contaminated with carbon build-up and gives you an erratic idle. It's the round solenoid that screws into the side of the throttle body. When you remove it you'll see a spring loaded plunger that needs cleaning with throttle body cleaner and you'll need to clean the seat inside the throttle body as well.12_24_2012_2_14_19_pm.png

1991 4.3 GMC SIERRA SLX 1500 engine starts but as soon as you go to turn the steering wheel or turn the a/c on the engine dies, have any idea ? ihave changed multiple sensors.

I would check the idle air control valve and the throttle body.
The valve could be faulty or the throttle body could have dirt blocking the air passage.
If you keep the RPM above idle speed does it still stall ?

Check TPS for smooth and linear electrical response over the entire range of motion. If the response is jumpy or erratic at all, replace TPS.

4.8 liter engine stalls when trying to start.

The IAC is not a sensor. It is a stepper motor controled by the PCM. It is sometimes located on the side of the throttle body.
