Antifreeze is available either as 100% and as a 50/50 mix, ready to use. It's often a bit cheaper to buy the straight type and just add 50% water to it using two containers.. You can maintain the 50/50 concentration in your cooling system by buying and using an inexpensive hydrometer at any parts store. Using straight antifreeze will lower freeze point but will also lower the boil point as well. At around 50% you are at the place where if graphed, both would be balanced without sacrificing either.
In extremely cold climates you can go more towards a higher concentration but when warmer weather sets in you'd need to re-balance the mix to avoid boiling over.
Mostley yes how ever thay do have a 50/50 mix you can put directly into the raditor
Your car uses DEXCOOL, so be sure to use that...only. mix it 50% water/ 50% coolant.
SOURCE: Anyone know the ratio for dilution of 1990 van coolant?
Mix at 50/ 50 for best result and protection will give -30degC freeze protection
SOURCE: have sum anti freeze mixed
Worth a try, might do it a few times in a short time since you cannot get it all out without total disassembly-or find a place that pumps it out doing a total trans flush. Cheaper than a new trans.
