Typically the license plate light will come on with the running lights....if all the other lights are good I would suspect a bad bulb or trouble at the bulb holder....
Take care.

License plate light

The licence plate doesn't have a fuse, it comes on when you put your lights on, if you have your park lights on and the plate light isn't working then generally it's just a bulb, see what you can find, cheers good luck

License plate lights arent working

You didn't forget to pull the headlight switch to check them? That's odd, usually license plate lights are spliced in from the tail light circuit.
There may be a separate ground for the license lights-if so, should be right nearby the bulbs. Use a test light or voltmeter and make sure fuse 22 has power. You could also check the sockets for power. If you have power to the socket and new bulbs don't work, it would be a grounding problem.

Location of fuse box for license plate light on a 1998 chevy cargo van

The license plate bulb is fed off the same fuse as the parking lights/tail lights. If those a working than the fuse is good. Check the bulb. If its good check for power to the bulb and for a good ground. I think this has The license in the door? If so check the wiring in the door harness in between the door and the body. It is possible that there is a broken wire in that harness. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

I have a 1999 ford expedition the license plate lamps do not work, I need to know where the fuse is located and the number pf the fuse

Most likely its the bulb thats gone, cause the fuse for the license plate light is the same as the parking lights, the fuse is in the fuse compartment, properly labeled, not hard to spot, it will show amp rating as well, but im sure its your bulb, remove housing with phillips screw driver, remove bulb, replace, reverse assemble, off you go...
Good luck...

Tag light is not working. is there a fuse that will get the light turned back on?

The fuse labeled REAR PARK LP 15A in the right instrument panel fuse box powers the rear park lamps, and the tag lamps. If your rear park lamps are working then you most likely need to replace the tag lamps (bulbs). Use the following procedure to replace the lamps.

To Remove:
  1. Remove the two mounting screws from the license plate lamp.
  2. Remove the license plate lamp from the rear bumper fascia.
  3. Remove the license plate lamp socket by turning it counterclockwise.
To Install:
  1. Install the license plate lamp socket by turning it clockwise.
  2. Position the license plate lamp to the rear bumper fascia.
  3. Install the license plate lamp mounting screws.

Bulb on license plate is out and cruise control. 2004 cavalier

The two problems should not be related to one another. The the fuses for the park lights and the cruise control. The license plate bulb is wired along with the rest of your park lights. If the rest of the park lights are working then check for power and ground at the bulb holder. If you have both there, check the bulb and the fit again. If no power or ground is there you will have to trace the wires. If the fuse is not blown to the cruise control, more information is required to trouble shoot any further.

1996 ford explorer license plate fuse

I'm not to sure what one you did want license plate light or the tag light up high above your back door. I know I am reading license plate so I will say the fuse needs to be replaced. plate lamps need 2 light bulbs and the fuse box is under the steering wheel or under the hood there are 2.
in my book it said that it is a (194 trade number), I woulds change out bulbs and then fuse.
