Just smash the back window as time os of an essence ,always keep a spare key ,and another trick is to have a key cut with no chip in it as these are expensive then grease it and tape it and wire as well to underside of car so at least car can be opened

2006 Nissan Quest back door won't open.

f you can get the door open, at the top left corner of the door is a bar that attaches to the door that opens and closes it by use of a motor. It may have loosened itself off. If you can't get the door open at all make sure there is nothing that may have closed on the door itself, If there is something there such as a strap or something you will probably be fighting with it for a while but eventually it should work itself loose. The bar from the motor that attaches to the door may have came loose. My quest is doing the same thing. I went to tighten it down and it had already stripped itself off of the inside of the door frame. I was able to get the nut by closing the door and digging for it inside of the door frame. Of course all of the door panels were removed to do this. On the downside of this the nut was tack welded to the inside of the door frame, there is absolutely no way to get this nut back up in there unless I cut a small hole in the door where I can get the nut in there to tighten down.
I will try to get to fix it tomorrow if I can, the problem is I'm going to have to fix it somehow or the back door will be useless unless I feel like opening it from the emergency latch every time I need to open it.

My Equinox tailgate seems to be locked and will not open

May have been packed too tight, or something shifted as door was closing and became lodged in either the locking mechanism or the side supporting latched to the left and right lower edges of the door. Try applying some pressure to the outside of the door while turning the key. If you are trying to use the Key fob to open, the stuck position will not allow lock to disengage at all. If that does not work, have someone crawl inside and push while someone outside turns the key.
Silly question but, I need to ask, what is the temp. outside? There is also the very real possibility that, the door seal itself has been frozen to the painted mating surface along the jamb of the door. You would need to park in above freezing temp (full sun will work sometimes) if this does work, get some silicone sprayed on a rag (fairly wet) and wipe down the painted mating surface where the seal meets the jamb. Good luck

Door lock mechanism

is it full of ice,.......
what door?
key fails on outside, ?
lever or rod in inside and latch all fail on the inside.???
state the full symptoms.??

the FSM covefs these details
and if lucky,alldata.com

if lock is 100% dead all ways, door closed , that can be hard.
as removing door panels with the door closed would be a super pain
a PITA.
if the lock is iced up, use moms hair dryer, (SO, GF, or wife)

if never seen or heard of this ever.
the only way (no ice) for this to happen
is for the link on the back side of the key tumbler to break
and at the same time, the inside lock rod snaps too.
a double failure from H3LL.

in that case we...

2004 honda accord driver side lock won't open remote

driver side has most use and breaks down quickest.
Typically, the lock wears, and should be oiled using graphite powder, not oil, as with most outdoor locks.
However, in winter moisture turns to ice and freezes lock.
In this case, try to squirt lock de-icer (usually this is methyl alcohol or some other type).
Don't use an alcohol (such as from drugstore) that also contains water.
that would make matters worse.
If you spray enough lock deicer or even a high-quality penetrating oil, you may be able to work key and lock to a point where you can turn it.

Don't force key rapidly or too strongly, as it will bend, and may break off in lock.

You can spray some alcohol or penetrating fluid on the key to work it into the lock better.
Sometimes, you can get at a frozen lock mechanism by spraying down into **** between window and metal door from above lock.
Sometimes, you might find that the door itself is frozen,
or the lock latch is frozen, and not the key-tumbler.
In this case, you can try body-checking (not kicking) the door,
to loosen the frozen edges around door and window.
If you can get into car from other side, you can sometimes open it from inside to break ice-jam.

If this is an electrical problem
(only remote doesn't work)
The likely cause is broken wire in wire-harness from car body to door.
There will usually be a group of wires either inside a cable or bundled in a rubber tubing, going from car to door at front between hinges.
Here is where the electrical connection will be broken,
because the wires break eventually as they get flexed over and over.

IN this case, the only permanent fix is to find the wire (it will be color-coded), and replace at least 6 inches of that wire (it will probably be broken inside insulating sheath.)
Alternately, there may be an open-circuit at connector to door-latch solonoid. Here you might get lucky if you get inside door-cover off and wiggle or re-insert the plug connector.
Also possible that solenoid is just burnt out or open-circuit.
In that case it must be replaced, for the remote signal to effectively open door lock.
