Replace the starter.

  • Trevor Goble Oct 31, 2013

On the battery ground there is smaller wire that runs from the negative battery post and usually to the body this wire if broken will cause your car not to start and not hear a clicking sound.

  • Trevor Goble Oct 31, 2013

If this is not the case then check he solenoid on top of the starter you can buy just the solenoid but it usually beens your starter is worn. If all ths checks out then your throttle body position sensor may need to be replaced.

2005 pontiac montana won't start after boosting another vehicle

I have to ask, did you connect or attempt to connect the cables the wrong way round! Sounds like a main fuse has blown, some vehicles have a fusible link directly connected to the battery, you may have disturbed or broken a wire off the battery when you connected the boost leads. This seams like the only explanation. Good luck

Have to boost then it won't stay running

just had the same problem and i ended up having to change the altenator, for 2 or 3 weeks i would have to bang on the altenator with a hammer while it was running because my battery light would keep coming on. but after a few taps with a hammer you could actually here it start working again. i did that one to many times and broke the housing on the altenator and eventually had to replace it.

Pontiac Montana 2006 won't start just clicks but

it sounds like the starter motor could be worn out, or could be as simple as the main pos wire is bad or corroded

Don't know car won't start even after boosting pontiac g6

lenmercredi2, Sounds to me like the starter, the clicking sound you hear is the shaft on the starter popping out, but the shaft is not spinning. The shaft pops out and spins the flywheel to start the car, but sounds like its not working. You more than likely need a new starter, hope this helps :)

My montana will start one time , run all day , turning it off and re-starting.The next day it will not start. There is lots of spark. wiring harness is good. can`t hear the fuel pump when it won`t start.

You should try cleaning the throttle body - remove the air box from the throttle body spray in cleaner and then work it in with an old toothbrush. I had the same issue with my 2005 and this fixed it right up.

Low beam headlights not working on 2004 Pontiac Montana extended

You headlight lamp have a diffuser mechanism which allows it to flip between the hight beam and low beam feature of the bulb. In fact, you high beam will function even if the low beam is not working.

I would recommend the purchase of the new headlight lamp. It would cost you you any where from $15.00 per unit to get a replacement lamp
