While hooking up battery late night and stupidly working in the dark on my 95 Gs 300. I connected battery wrong and blew out my the main fuse, Alt A100-- after changing it and checked all other fuses are fine, but the car still will not turn over: It sounds like fuel not injecting; it goes to start but will not turn over. "Can't figure out problem, please HELP!!!

Most cars have a emergency fuel shut off in the trunk that shuts down fuel pump when hit in the rear end. Try to push that . Or poor some fuel into injectors then see if it will turn over.

1995 Ford Escort SW, killing battery trying to crank it.

1.8 or 1.9L:liter engine? (USA?)_
YOU CHANGED OUT THE ALTERNATOR AND DID NOT DO STEP ONE IN THE SERVICE MANUAL
1:; REMOVE NEG LUG ON BATTERY
2: REMOVE ALT.
IF STEP1 IS SKIPPED YOU BLEW UP TO H3LL THE HUGE ALTERNATOR FUSE 75?1995 AMPS OR FUSIBLE LINK
WE HAVE 1000'S OF POSTS HERE JUST LIKE THAT. FOR SAME REASONS.
ALSO on older cars (bingo) there are other fuses related to the ALT.
when you put in a new alt out comes dmm
start engine see battery volts 13 to 15vdc.
if lower you did it all wrong or gee it was only bad fuses before the alt was swapped and is now too.
see?
most cars made , a dead alt , we drive 30minute and spark ends
battery now drained, flat. (at night head lamps on, and heater on)
while driving the ALt/GEN/Battery warning lamp glows, did not lie
but if main fuse blows, the lamp lies.(omg NO LAMP HERE!)

looks like a 3 wire alt/gen counting ground
2wires, one huge and 1 small to FI fuse ()so not blow or engine dies)
and huge wire to 100amp main fuse<< this.

OMG no ALT /gen lamp in the IP cluster, a pure shock that.

here it is. the 100am fuse is blown

I'm driving a chevrolet aveo 2010 . In the middle of no where last night it went dim than to dark. It was runing ok this all time. Only sign shown was the engine. Didn't show any sign of battery.

well the battery is now dead (or only discharged !)
cause #1 ALT/Gen replaces WRONG, see here 10,000 times. more www.

driving a car the ALTERNATOR produces all Electrical power.
100amps x 13v is 1300watts, and runs ALL>
when it dies the battery is sucked dry/dead/ discharged.

1; remove neg lug from battery or BOOM (100amp fuse BLOWN)
2; remove ALT
3: new one back connected same.
4: battery NEG lug back
bingo no BOOM.!
every SM manual of every car tells that;.

you said didn't want to start
but I guess you meant starter is dead, or clicks only or will not spin fast as it must.

the 15mins is dead accurate, for 50 years driving seen this happen
as ALT goes dead at night,
in the day engine runs 30min to 1hour dead ALT , HEADS off

the blow fuse is just bay fuse
or worse, a fuseable link, oddity not fun to fix. ever.
thus step 1,

no engine told but let me look on uSA car thjis.
2010 not AVEO5

there it is but what it looks like, hummmmmm

Cooked a jumper pack on backwards positive to negative (it was dark) lights work, dome light works. when I turn the key nothing no chime No turnover no dash lights.look at 1 set of fuses my 100 amp alt...

Connecting jumpers to a battery is risky at the best of time but connecting them wrong is a death spell for the computer in the car. You will probably need another cpu unit for the car

I hooked jumper cables up backwards being in a hurry. I blew the 100 amp main fuse and replaced it. now the lights and blower fan work but the car won't turn over and the clock and radio don't...

It sounds like you blew fuses other than just the main fuse. Hooking the battery up wrong can destroy major components as well, like the starter, battery, Computer, moduals. You might need a good shop....

Hooked up spare battery to the wrong terminals now have no power at all lights still work but no dash lights? what could it be is there a fuse that might have blown or something worse?

Under the hood is a fuse box. In this box is going to be a large fuse (between 60 and 100 amps usually) and it may be labeled 'main', 'alt', or 'batt'. This is the fuse that runs from the battery to the main power of the vehicle. When you hook a battery up like that it blows this main fuse. You'll need to replace that and any other fuses it blew out.

1995 gs 300 brakes light won't come on

I had the same prob w/ my 95 GS300. I also tried all the things u mentioned. My last thought was to follow the wiring from back to front (I'm an electrician). It ended up being a major slice thru the mass of wires that go thru the trunk into the passenger compartment on the passenger side. It looks like the wires must have rubbed up against a sharp weld between two body panels and broke that way. Anyway, mine broke in the channel underneath the doors between the back and front seats. 4 **** connectors and some heat shrink tubing and I was all set. Drove me crazy for a good two weekends.
