The truck has a 30Amp fuse link supplying power to the fuel pump relay and the main relay, a 15 Amp fuse then protects the fuel pump circuit. Relay is in the engine compartment fuse box it is Good luck to you. Hope this fixex your problem

SOURCE: fanbelt diagram for 98 honda passport

Check carefully under the hood. There should be a sticker under the hood in the engine compartment with a diagram of the belt routing. If you can't find it, check your owners manual (if u still have it), if all this fails, ask where u purchased the new belt, they would have access to that info. Good luck!

SOURCE: how do you change the fuel pump in a 1996 honda

Fuel tank hoses go to the pump. From the pump to the filter, and from the filter to the engine.
You disconnect the battery cables first.

These Isuzu-built vehicles had many problems with fuel system components. Particularly the sending unit in the tank. Note: If the unit is replaced, the PCM must be updated to accept the new pump calibration before it will work.

I had the same problem with my Passport and it was the fuel pump going bad. The pump was not producing enough pressure to get the fuel into the fuel system. A local shop discovered the problem when they did a pressure test on my fuel system.

Honda passport ran out of gas. now won't start. Could be gas filter?Put 5 gals of gas in tank. Will start with gas added to air flter intake, but won't stay running

It's possible that you have an air bubble in the fuel line. This blocks fuel from reaching the engine. To clear it, you will have to bleed the line at the fuel filter.

The other possibility is that the fuel pump is not working. Turn the ignition key to the on position. You should be able to hear the fuel pump humming. If not, check the fuel pump fuse, in the fusebox under the hood. If the fuse is ok, you will need to trouble-shoot the pump.

The problem is most certainly the fuel level sending unit - not the fuel pump. However the mechanic was right in a sense that if you're going to pay the labor cost to drain and purge the gas tank to replace the sending unit you might as well replace the pump at the same time, since you have to take it off to get to the real problem.

Use your odometer.

your sending unit in the gas tank is bad. You most likely already priced a new one that you can only get with a fuel pump. {around 275-300 dolllars}. I found the sending unit by itself on ebay for around 40 dollars. Just go to ebay and type in 98 99 00 01 02 rodeo passport fuel sending unit and that should take you to the guy I'm getting mine from.
