How to replace 2007 Kia Sportage sun visor

I forced a small nail between the visor rod and the tube (or whatever) the rod goes into in the visor itself. That created enough tension or drag to hold the visor and keep it from drooping. The visor now works in all three positions.

The driver's sun visor won't stay up, it falls down

Already reported as being a repetitive problem with Murano vehicule owner eventhough they have it alreay replaced.
You can fight as long as you want with your dealer that this is a security issue no recall has been expressed about that so far.

I can say that some people switched the passenger side one with the driver side with little of convenience. I can't say more personnally.
The permanent fix being approx $250 unless you get it one in a scrap yard not knowing how long will be its life time! Up to you to make the decision.
Hope it will help
Dan

I have a 2003 Murano that just started having this problem a few weeks ago. As a quick fix, my husband and I switched the driver's side sun visor with the passenger's side sun visor (yes, everything is backwards now, but it's a minor inconvenience). It was very simple to do, and only took about 5 minutes. The cover pops right off to reveal two screws that hold the unit in place. Anyone could do it.
Meanwhile, we are searching local junkyards to try to find a replacement to avoid having to pay $250 (+) for a replacement visor. user_offline.gif

Driver side sun visor falls down

If you have anything on top of the visor, remove it. If there are any screws visible near the pivot rod, tighten them. You can remove the visor and slightly bend the pivot rod, inside the visor. You can just buy a new one and replace it yourself. It's only a few screws.

Sun visor falls down as I am driving

Look for a screw near where the arm comes down from the ceiling. Usually if you tighten this one or two screws it will stiffen up.

Some of these are not adjustable. Try a junk yard. They should not have too much trouble finding one your color and in good shape. It would not be very expensive.

Sun visor on driver's side won't stay up or all the way down. 2006 Sonata I have the same problem with my 2007 Sonata driver side sun visor broke and will not stay up but keeps droping down in my view....

I have a 2007 Sonata and the driver's side sun visor broke. I called the dealership where I purchased the car, and was told that they only cover it for 5 years/60,000 miles. So if your's is broken, get it in there before the warranty expires. Otherwise the cost is around $80 for the visor unit.
