Any type of antifreeze will work just fine. When a manufacture recommends a certain "brand" of antifreeze, they are in a marketing agreement with the manufacturer of the antifreeze. None is really any worse or bwetter than another brand. What you should be focusong on, is the ability of the antifreeze to do it's job, and its job is to prevent your engine from over heating or your radiator from freezing up during winter conditions. A correct mixture is half and half, or one part antifreeze to one part water, this mixture is the optimum mix ratio to best perform its correct function.
You only worry about freezeing where its very cold, the most important consideration of coolant in a aluminum engine/radiator system is corrosion prevention. Antifreeze that needs replacement after 1 or 2 years is not acceptable unless you are not planning on the long term.(let the next owner worry about it) You spent a lot of $$ on a Caddy plan on spending more on mantainance and pony up for the high mileage type! Manual requires DEX-COOL type. Twice the price at purchase but doesnt need changing which is really less cost in the long run. Keeps cooling system cleaner as well. In the south where its 100 deg. in summer traffic 60/40 is prefered.
