s10 2.2 4 cyl looks like hydraulic roller lifters fitted

this is the lifter part listed for the motor ..set of 8

ticking will be worn or hammered lifters or poor oil flow pressure to the lifters

Where is the oil dip stick located on 2002 cavalier 4 cyl

If you can't see separate oil dipstick (usually has an yellow plastic handle), then your oil level dipstick is connected to oil filler cap. When you unscrew the oil cap you'll be able to see the dipstick and level meter.

1997 GMC Sonoma with 4 cyl engine. The truck runs great, but after the engine warms up, the oil pressure drops to around 12 from 50 when cold. is this the oil pump and how do i change?

Depending on oil type (IE: synthetic, etc) this is normal. If using conventional oil then I'd be concerned. To replace oil pump you'll need to remove pan and it is bolted to lower part of engine.

Where is the safest spot to place a jack on the bottom of a 6 cyl 97 malibu engine

Typically if you need to raise the engine a little, or adjust it's position with a jack the best and safest way is to use a chunky piece of wood at least the same length as the oil pan and wide enough to rest on the jack saddle as a load spreading member between the jack and oil pan. Never try to support the entire weight of the engine this way, it will most likely deform the oil pan.

What kind of oil does the cougar need? it has an oil leak somewhere so i have to keep refilling.

HI. If this is a 6 cyl engine, the recommend weight will be 5w-30. For the 8 cyl engine, the recommended weight will be the same, as well.
