Are you using a scanner or a code reader? Do you have any noid lights to check for inection pulse at the injector plug. All the pink wires at the injector plug show 12 volts with the key on?Are you using a scanner or a code reader? Do you have any noid lights to check for inection pulse at the injector plug. Could be the pressure regulator on the fuel rail. Pull the vacuum line off the regulator and check it for fuel contamination. There should not be gas in the line. If there is fuel in that line the regulator is bad and needs replaced.
Will it continue to run aftre you manually prime it? If so, you are lossing fuel pressure over time which may indicate a leak in a line and or a faulty fuel pump. (low pressure) Could also be a restriction in fuel line (filter) Frozen water in the line is not unheard of in cold climates.
the pressure regulator may be leaking. pull he vac line and see if its wet. wet is bad. Also these fuel pump connectors are known to overheat from poor connections. Do a search on gm fuel pump repeat failures and overheating connectors. Also the fuel pump could be leaking down so the line needs to be primed. Try cycling the key about 3 to 5 times before you start it. The pump will prime for 3 seconds each time before shutting off. If this helps the problem is the fuel pump.
The fuel pump might be working but it is not priming. When you turn on the vehicle, the pump sends fuel under pressure to the injectors, to "prime" or have fuel present to be able to start engine. Without it there will no fuel available to start it. You are manually priming the engine, and the fuel pump is taking over from there. Check connections to fuel pump and replace if necessary. It is not an inexpensive repair
Your fuel pump is in the tank. Turn on the ignition, and listen if you can hear the pump run in the tank. It will only run a few seconds if the engine is not running. You can repeat this several times to prime the fuel injection.
No priming. It will do it by itself. It may take 4 or 5 cranks and runs before it reaches fuel regulator. If not, you may have a leak or a faulty regulator
replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump
Hello, yes the check valve is in the fuel pump assembly. The check valve is leaking and the pump will burn out soon. Unfortunately the aftermarket fuel pumps can be very unreliable. A good portion of problems we see on this site are from people who replace the pump sometimes twice and it still doesn't work.
