1999 NISSAN ALTIMA KEYLESS REMOTE PROGRAMMING

I HAVE A NEW UNUSED EXTRA REMOTE THAT CAME WITH THE NEW ALTIMA. I NEED TO OBTAIN PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS TO GET IT TO WORK ON MY VEHICAL

1999-2003
Enter vehicle, close and lock all doors.
slowly insert and remove key from ignition 6 times within 10 seconds. The tail lamps will flash to indicate original code has been erased. Turn ignition to the ACC position.
Press any button on 1st transmitter.
Hazard lamps will flash to confirm programming.
TO enter additional transmitters, unlock then lock the doors using the power lock switch located on the driver door.
Press any button on additional transmitter (up to 4 tansmitters total possible). Hazard lamps will flash to confirm programming.
open the driver's door.
Turn ignition off.

You must re-program all existing transmitters as this process erases codes from car.

Call Nissan they have to program your old keyless remote to your new cars ECU. Unless your a computer wiz you can do so research and get the program to do it yourself. Call Nissan first.

On my 2006 Nissan Altima the Key fob stopped

Take the fob off the key ring and leave at home. Does it still do funky things? If not - it is the fob and first vote is to replace the battery inside - typically a lithium cell. Or the fob itself. If still acting up with the fob away, pull the fuse for the keyless entry, count to 30 and put back. Another less likely cause is the relay - under the hood - marked Keyless entry. If you need to replace the fob, there are instructions for Nissan on numerous sites including below, I have replaced a 2003 and reprogrammed the car to recognize. 2006 Nissan Altima Keyless Entry Remote Programming Instructions...

Reset code for 2005 Ford Focus keyless entry remote

So this answer is on the same topic of a 2005 Ford Focus keyless entry remote. There is no way to "reset" the code from the vehicle, however you can reprogram an existing or program a new keyless entry remote to your Ford Focus by using these simple instructions:

*** THERE ARE 2 POSSIBLE PROGRAMMING PROCEDURES. ***Procedure #1
Note: Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle.
Note: Do not depress the brake pedal during procedure.
  1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. (Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the position just shy of starting your car.)
  2. Within 20 seconds press any button on the first keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. If you only have one remote then skip to step 4.
  3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. Repeat step 3. For all other remotes.
  4. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Purchased used. have remote for keyless remote.

That you need to take it to a car stereo dealer that install NEW keyless entry's...Sorry, thats the easiest way to fix this issue.

SECTION 501-14B: Keyless Entry/Computer Operated Locks 1999 Town Car Workshop Manual GENERAL PROCEDURES Programming —Keyless Entry Keypad Code
  1. Enter the permanent factory keyless entry keypad code.
  1. Press the 1/2 button within five seconds to activate the programming mode. Holding the 1/2 button for more than two seconds will erase all stored customer codes. The existing codes do not need to be erased to program new codes.
  1. Enter the new five-digit keyless entry keypad code.
  1. To associate the new code with personality positions 1, 2 or 3, press the 1/2 button within 5 seconds of entering the 5th digit of the new code for position 1 or 3/4 button for position 2 or 5/6 for position 3. The door locks will lock and unlock confirming the new code is programmed.
  1. If another code is to be programmed, begin entering the code within 5 seconds of the last button pressed.
  1. After all new keyless entry codes are programmed:
    • Press keyless entry keypad buttons 7/8 and 9/0 at the same time to exit the program mode.
    • Wait for 5 seconds; the driver door module (DDM) will exit the program mode automatically.

Programming —Transmitter
  1. Cycle the ignition from OFF to RUN four times within three seconds. The locks will then lock and unlock, confirming program mode has been entered.

  1. Exit program mode by turning the ignition to OFF, START, or wait 7.5 seconds.
