To reset MAINT REQ'D light, press and hold select/reset button on right side of instrument panel. Turn ignition on and hold until the light goes out.

To reset MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light, insert the ignition key into the slot to the left of the light on the instrument panel.

If the light returns it is possible you need a oil pump.....Hondas are great and run for ever but once in a while they do break down best of luck

SOURCE: i have a honda 1993 the oil light is on .I change

10 psi minimum at idle and 50psi at 3000 rpm are needed for the light to be off. If you have this check for a bad ground wire and reset the CEL.
Good luck...i hope this helps

My oil light comes on after higher speeds while idling at a traffic light.

It may be your oil pressure transmitter switch at fault. There's many different oil pressure transmitter switches. Here are some generic images:
oil pressure transmitter switch Google Search
It could also be that your vehicle is due an oil/filter change.
Is your oil level ok?

It's unlikely to be your oil pump at fault.
  1. Check your oil level
  2. Is the vehicle due an oil/filter change?
The oil pressure transmitter switch simply tells the engine 'low oil pressure'. This usually happens at idling speed due to a faulty transmitter switch, low oil level or there's a need for an oil change as the old oil is no longer up to the job. Oil pressure switches are easily changed.

The important thing is that you aren't getting a warning light when driving at speed. If your oil level is okay and it isn't due an oil/filter change - it probably is the oil pressure switch at fault.

For your own peace of mind try adding an oil additive.

What is wrong when low oil pressure light comes on?

I can think of several things to check. low on oil, oil thinned out ,change oil, oil filter blocked , oil filter relief valve stuck open, oil pressure switch faulty. Best to remove oil pressure switch and fit a oil pressure gauge to get a true reading. If OK just replace the switch.

I have a 2004 Dodge Durango and my oil light comes on and goes off.We have the oil changed like we should. The other day the engine light come on and today it when off after we drove it for 30 mins.

Possible causes of the oil light coming on are -
low oil pressure
dirt in the passage behind the oil pressure switch
a faulty oil pressure switch.
Most people either replace the switch or have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge.

On the dash there is a light on. It is a oil pan with a wrench. What does this mean?

it is an oil warning of some kind. could be low oil,or it could just be due for an oil and filter change, or it could mean there is a blocked oil filter. or low oil pressure, or a faulty oil pressure switch

best solution is just to change the oil and filter, especially if you have not done this in a while (or at all) if the light stays on, you may need to change the pressure switch (remove wire, unscrew old switch, screw in new switch, replace wire) or find out about having the service light reset if it is on as part of a routine maintenance schedule.

Oil light on when oil is full

a loose connection WILL NOT cause flickering oil light unless your your oil is empty at the same time a connector is loose. This flickering is most likely caused by clogged oil ports or failing oil pump. When this happens there is insufficient oil running through the engine, causing the sensor to activate the light intermittedly. Have this checked immediately to prevent extensive engine damage. Hopefully this helps!!

Oil light

If the oil light is on it's one of 2 things: You have no oil pressure, or the sending unit (also known as the oil pressure switch) is defective and is reading no pressure when there actually is normal pressure. You should always assume it means no pressure, because driving it this way will ruin the engine.
