Ahh ... the gas gauge / fuel level gauge does not work, either.
Maybe you need to replace the motors that are behind those dials. People are getting charged $300-$500 to have the fuel gauge replaced when the problem really is the little motor - 5 or 6 of them for less than $30. 2003 Buick LeSabre owners are having the same problem with their fuel gauges being erratic.
When you turn on the front window defroster, the A/C compressor is suppsed to engage.
If all of the guages are set to hot and the A/C is off when the defroster is turned on and the vehicle is at normal operating temp., then you may have a faulty blend door actuator and needs to be replaced.
Mine did the same thing. The thermostat was stuck open. Replace thermostat, the problem went away. If stuck open, it doesn't get to operating temperature when cold and indicates the engine is too hot when it's warm outside.
change the themostat when you remove the old themostat you should see it stuck in the open postion . before i install the new one i fill the the block with coolant install the new stat run the mtr and heater core until hot iwould also replace the cap
if you remove wire connection from temp sender unit and guage goes down then reconnect it goes up ? it is probably the temp sender unit is fault this is if you are certain engine/coolant system is ok and no indication of o/heating ?
