Have you tried changing Transmission oil and filter? Most automatic Transmission problem gets resolved by just changing the transmission oil and filter.

If this doe not work. Have it checked by you trusted mechanic and it may need replacing some parts.

It is worn out,gaskets won't help

White smoke is an indication of coolant in the
exhaust,from a gasket leak,intake or head gasket.

could be lots of things
in order from most obvious to least
1.) general maintenance, like spark plugs/wires and fuel filter
2.) failing fuel pump
3.) failing sensors like MAF or TP

bottom line if you have maintained your vehicle do that first
while buying parts have the store pull codes and see what else could be wrong

Your tranny filter, is located inside your tranny...You have to take off the tranny pan, and then you can replace the filter, and the tranny gasket..

if you have a 1ZZ engine

4.2 quarts, 4.4 quarts with oil filter change

if you have the 2ZZ engine (XRS model) it is

4.4 quarts, 4.6 quarts with oil filter change

I would check the auto trans oil level and condition first. For the engine hard starting I would check the plugs, fuel filter and coolant temperature sender unit a well.
