1999 audi a3

sounds like it getting hot and stops.

However if its the rear one it could be the wiring loom in the connection between boot door and frame .

Probable fuse blown.

Most probably the flasher unit. it is incorporated within the hazzard switch. they are known to be problematic on that model. sometimes just playing about with the hazard switch works other wise replace it.

- Door trim.
Removal
- Unclip decorative panel -2-.
- Remove decorative panel -2- toward front.
- Remove bolts -3- (3x) from door trim -1-.
For vehicles with electric window regulators
- Window regulator switch, removing and installing Page 70-25 .
For vehicles with manual window crank
- Manual window crank, removing and installing Page 70-26 .
For all vehicles
- Unclip door trim -1-. Replace damaged clips Fig. 3
- Raise door trim -1- upward approx. 20 cm. out from door shell.
- Disengage Bowden cable for interior door mechanism Fig. 1 .
- Disconnect electrical harness connectors Fig. 2

hi jamie,to reset the system,unlock the door/hold key over(windows will go down),then lock/hold key over(windows will go up/sunroof will close)then press unlock button on remote for 30 secs,RESET DONE.(if this dont work renew the battery in remote/reset again).geoff.

well either ur battery is low or you have an electrical problem try starting it then close the sun roof

you have a problem with one of your door locks,get the car code checked,go into central conv and check for a code,let me have the code and i may be able to help you

The window regulator clips are a very common failure. I bought some on ebay which were an improved version compared to the original supplied with the car. I think they are regularly available on ebay!
