I have an 04 Turbo Diesel Ford Transit. There is a light flashing on the dashboard - orange light with the shape of a coil depicted. I dont have a manual so does anyone know what this warning light means and whether I should be driving the van or not with this light on?

There isn't one. Because it is operated by putting the van into gear, it is probably a function of the BCM from a switch on the gearbox. Check the socket for continuity to ground and also for rust.

have they reconditioned and calibrated by an accredited diesel specialist shop

May be a wre or plug came undone .

Check in your owners manual,it will show you all the symbols on your dash.

sound like glow plugs wires harness disconnected or wires could be damaged during the transmission installation since transmission has to be remove when replacing flywheel.

"Have you replaced your air filter lately?" think about the ford commercial tune on that one lol!

thats the heater coil symbol for the diesel engines.
does it stay solid at beginning as normal?
if the car drives normal, then maybe its just a loose connection/wire somewhere

most likley a sensor...you have a code stored in the computer...need a code reader to figure out problem

Possible oil sending unit problem.
