2002 bmw 530i: When ignition is switched, click but no crank. It all started when wipers flailed to turn on. Replaced wiper relay, now car will not crank. Any ideas?

Given the nature of the fault, it may not be the motor that has gone out.
It could be due to a fuse out of the rain sensor. So check out the fuse under the hood for faults. Switch the wipers on to see if you can gently pull up the wiper in the direction that it goes. If it works, there are chances of a dead spot or worn spot in the wiper motor which immediately should be replaced. For better inspection, bring the car to Eurobahn and get it serviced.
shorting to start motor will allow the motor to turn but the ignition system is still off. try with key turned to ignition position. suspect starter solenoid on starter motor. suspect fuses maybe there is a fuse which has blown. suspect ignition key switch maybe defective.
