Driver's window makes squeeking sound when it goes up

When raising driver's electric window, if makes a squeeking/grinding soud for the last half of travel to the top. I opened the door panel about 2 weeks ago and lubed all moving parts I could see with silicone spray and the noise went away. It has now re-appeared. Could it be that the mechanism needs replacing, or does this problem seem more like a window motor problem?. Any help much appreciated.

SOURCE: windows dont move down or up

you have to rebuild (which can be ghetto rigged, but never is reccomended) or replace the window winder units. they can be removed, find the rail which those loose cables came from and remove it, it should be an assembly with the winder motor attached. be sure to remove the bolt that attach to the window mount also. if you can locate the place where the end of the cable is supposed to mount (on a little slider thing) and make a new mount for the end of the cable, then take apart the winder motor spool, and re wind the cable inside the spool, then put it back together, you have ghetto rigged yopur winder. if you cant do all that, you will have to replace the whole unit at a cost of around $120.

SOURCE: power steering problem, noise coming from engine, 97 montero

Your experiencing the same thing my 02 is experiencing- your crankshaft pulley is slipping on the crankshaft. It only does it under load, i.e. turning steering wheel(loads the power steering pump) running heater blower on high with headlights on (loading the alternator) or running the a/c with blower (loading the a/c compressor and alternator). Turning off all lights, blowers, ac, etc and allowing the car to idle should kill the slipping until loaded again. This problem is very serious and very expensive if your don't catch it early. It require repairs ranging from tightening the crank to pulley bolt, to replacing the pulley AND your crankshaft if it is allowed to continue. if you cannot get it serviced immediately then do your best to keep loads off of your belts by driving with the blower off, A/C off, and lights used only when necessary. Also try to avoid extreme tight turns which load your power steering pump. Your repair, if not done asap, will cost you upwards of around $3k since the motor must be removed and completely torn down to replace your crankshaft and pulley. I would seek a tech who will exhaust every other method- i.e. sleeving, welding, etc. to effect a repair. Just don't put it off because it will only get worse...

SOURCE: 2006 impala passenger door won't open

have someone from the outside pull the handle up while you pound the door from the inside. the latch became frozen from lack of lubrication. once open, spray the **** out of it with wd40 or pb blaster and work the latch till it moves freely

SOURCE: 1998 Toyota Corolla Electric Door Lock Problem

You'll need to replace the solenoid (motor) that doesn't work. Not hard once you get the door panel off. I suggest you buy the correct part, not a universal one.

SOURCE: 2001 Mitsubishi GTZ Window Regulator Replacement on Drivers Door

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

When operating drivers door electric window it makes a grinding screeching noise & gets stuck half way & have to close window by operating switch while pulling window up

If sounds like the window came off the window track & when it gets halfway up the window motor may start grinding. 1st try lubing the rubber window seals w/ white grease to see if that helps . if not remove the inner door cover & ck to see if the glass is firmly sealed to the track & lube all gears & motor gears . If window is out of the track a SPECIFIC ADHESIVE GLUE is made for it. Reset it in the track & re glue it in position .Don't forget to lude the edges & seals. GOOD LUCK, Frank M

2005 Navigator driver side window started making a grinding noise, and moving slowly. It is now half-way up, and wont go up any further. It will go down, but I don't want it stuck all the way down so...

What is happening is your Window Regulator (the Framework that raises and lowers the window evenly.. a series of pulley's and Cables) is getting worn out. It needs to be lubricated and part of the problem will go away. The Motor is what moves the Cables....

SO either the Cables need to be lubricated or the Regulator is getting worn out...

Have a 04 dodge with a driver side grinding noise that comes and goes. It started after I got my truck stuck in the snow. I thawed out the front end last night, and now its worse. It comes and goes while...

C V Joints can make a lot of noises. Sounds to me like you either bent the inner fender or if it is plastic you may have pulled it loose and it looks normal but it is just sitting in place with the push pins out of their intended holes. When you turn and or hit a high speed it hits the wheel/tire. Try putting on some gloves and then pulling medium strength on the fender well and surrounding areas to see if that is the problem -

The driver side window wont raise

well if the window goes down it is not the motor. the switch maybe.....but most likely a broken wire in rubber tube between door and body
