Suzuki has since done a recall to inspect and replace the Crossmember /sub frame. I think the letter came out in July. I just got mine done in November ago in Canada. I think the dealership scammed me though and sabotaged it to say they needed to also repair the control arm. But only took me for 60 bux. "a bolt had seized" and it is not covered by the recall warranty. the charge was for half an hour labour to fix the bolt! To the original poster of the question, suggest you contact a Suzuki dealer.

You got scammed! If a bolt broke off, THEY broke it off, not you! Report the dealer to the bike manufacturer, and ask for compensation, and threaten to take the matter to the National Highway Safety Commission ... and DO THAT if they don't fix the problem!

Complete BS. i worked at a suzuki dealership in australia for three years and this is a common problem among others with there head unit in this model eg. not ejecting cds, numerous error codes non repairable, bad reception, the list goes on. i recommend take it further.

read the FSM the factory service manual, it's 4 bucks read it please and ask
any questions not clear, it's all there.

on mine you cant, it's a real frame.. remove it with a plasma cutter?

the transmission has a cross member. that?
nor did you even say the JOB so we can know what you are ATTEMPTING. ???????

the front frame cross member is a frame, not a part.
it holds the lower suspension A arms . that?

2000 Cadillac deville dts sub frame has cracked is it part of the GM recall

Your going to have to remove the entire drive train
& complete suspension, so you can media blast your
sub frame & then TIG Weld it, to make the required
repairs

I wouldn't mind doing the job,but no way I would pay
thousands, to have it done

For recalls you have to ALWAYS ask the parties involved

I had the recall done on my sonata 2001 4 cyl auto at the recall for sub frame was done ?

I'm assuming the recall involved control arm failure due to corrosion?
If this was the recall that warranted the replacement of the component(s), it si very possible that when they re-installed the new parts, the frame regained its original stiffness, which will sometimes cause the control arm bushings to squeak. In my years of servicing these components, I've found that the best lubricant is not wd-40, but tire shine products because of their abilities to preserve rubber as well as allowing it to remain flexible. Spray on lubricants have a tendency to eventually dry rot these components because of their chemical mixture.

Hello fellow Windstar owner. I just took my 2001 Windstar into a local Ford Dealer here in Chicagoland to have my rear axle inspected. I can tell you that FORD is taking this recall issue very seriously and with that you will NOT need to produce any recall letter to get your vehicle inspected and then repaired. FORD goes by youre VIN Number as a means to track everything like this recall issue. By the way, FORD really impressed me with the repair that was done tommy rear axle and I am very hard to please (I am a former auto mechanic). You will not have any problems with FORD taking a look at your van.

The part you are looking for in covered by a Suzuki recall. It was was defective from the start. Take your car to a Suzuki dealership and they should replace the part for you @ no cost to you.

Broken subframeon my esteem. Is there a recall or any compensation. The car was in good shape and now it seems to be worthless. This doesn't seem reasonable.

hello everybody,
I had the same problem on a 2000 suzuki esteem and I checked with the dealer. it looks like there are a lot of problems with the subframe, so suzuki extended the warranty to 12 years or 288 k. I know is a late answer, but might help somebody.
