DIC How do you change the preferred language in the DIC? I want to change the language from French to English.

    I have this problem on a 2002 Buick rendezvous. The vehicle was serviced and the language changed from French to English. The service shop has said that it was nothign that they did. HELP I can't read french

Unless your Rendezvous is Canadian made, you can use the SET button ont he DIC to toggle between English or metric. A Canadian odometer and trip odometer will remain in metric units only. Hope this helps.

It means you have 4% engine oil life remaining, and that you have your Driver Information Center language set to French.
You need to change, or have changed, your engine oil and filter, and if French is not your language, change the DIC display language to English in the language settings.

I just bought a used 2002 Pontiac Aztec the dic is in french how do I change the language to English

The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays PONTIAC or BUICK for 3 seconds and then the most recently used key fob when it first powers up. The DIC returns to the last display status after displaying the key fob number. The DIC can be displayed in English or French. In order to change between English/French press and hold the Mode button for more than 3 seconds .
There are 2 buttons on the DIC.
  1. Set button
  2. MODE button
Set Button
The Set button allows options to be reset in the DIC. Options can be reset by depressing and holding the Set button for 3 seconds

LANGUAGE: To select your choice of language, use the ENTER button to move between the optional languages. The languages are English, French, German and Spanish. Choosing a language will display all of the information on the DIC in the desired language. When you have made your choice, press the MENU button for at least one second to record your selection. The initial setting from the factory is ENGLISH.

ENTER: The ENTER button is used to reset certain functions and turn OFF or acknowledge messages on the DIC display. The ENTER button also toggles through the options available in each personalization menu.

How to change languages on instruments

{: ) Press the customization button (the button on the steering wheel with a bold letter i ) until LANGUAGE: ENGLISH appears in the display. To select your preference for display language, press the select button (bent arrow symbol) while LANGUAGE: ENGLISH is displayed on the DIC. Pressing the select button will scroll through the following languages: • ENGLISH (default) • FRANCAIS (French) • ESPANOL (Spanish) Choose one of the available options and press the customization button while it is displayed on the DIC to select it and move on to the next feature.
If you accidentally choose a language that you do not want or understand, press and hold the customization button and the trip information button at the same time. The DIC will begin scrolling through the languages in their particular language. English will be in English, Francais will be in French, and Espanol will be in Spanish. When you see the language that you would like, release both buttons. The DIC will then display the information in the language you chose.
You can also scroll through the different languages by pressing and holding the trip reset stem for four seconds, as long as you are in the odometer mode.

There are two square buttons on your dash, just to the left of the steering wheel. Press and hold the left until it blinks and it will allow you to set up the languages and such.

How do I change from French to English on my DIC?

You should be able to go through the menu where it goes to LANGUAGE, and click english. I had one here ealrier today. Its all in the owners manual.
