You mean the the transmitter, theres a start button and with out ket module car wont start, you are trying to program a new trans/module, this as far as i know must be done with a scan tool, a mercedes scan tool,

It is a Mercedes, you need the dealership, an auto electrician or an Auto locksmith / Alarm installer. It is the most electrically over-engineered brand on the market. some are PIN Locked so that only registered technicians can reset based on VIN Number.

You should have a code for the radio in your owner;s manual. If you are not the original owner and it is not there, the dealer should be able to provide it from your VIN.
if original, try flicking the key 5 times and then hold lock and open at the same time, assuming the key starts the car and is original key and remote, you will see the locks actuate if the battery is also good or new, usually they do not loose the fob memmory. try a new battery to the remote first.
