It is on because there is a problem with the Anti-Lock Brake System. Your normal non-abs brakes will work fine and you cannot tell anything is wrong until you need the ABS to work and it may or may not. There can be many things causing this. It may be as simple as dirt has collected on one of the sensors. Removing the sensor and cleaning may solve the problem. You can then remove the battery cable and reset the light. That may or may not work, You may need to reset the light with a scan tool. Inspect the wiring harness to each sensor and make sure it is securely connected. Turn the wheel to full lock left and right and make sure the wire is not being pulled tight thus stressing the connection. Another problem can be a broken tooth on the reduction ring that will set a code. You really need to have this scanned with a brake scan tool to get an idea of which wheel has the problem if you find nothing from a visual inspection.

My SRS, ABS, and Brake lights stay on. Sometimes the Brake light will go out but sometimes it will stay on. The SRS and ABS lights are always on. The car seems to be driving okay.

brake light could be a sensor wire or the pads are worn out ,the srs light could be the wiring connections under the front seats ,the connectors need a clean or rubbish under the seat has dislodged them.Abs light coming on could be caused by the low brake pads but its doubtful more like one of the metal toothed rings is loose on the drive shaft ,also could be low on brake fluid if the pads have worn down and the fluid level has dropped

The abs and safety brake light has come on. Is this a fuse problem

check your brake fluid level, brake system, wheel sensors. Dirty wheel sensors usually cause the ABS light to come on. As for the brake warning light, it may be low on fluid (possible leak) or faulty E-brake switch.

Tha ABS light has come on on our car. Wondered if this was to do with fluid levels or the actual brakes/pads. The manual was not with the car when we purchased the vehicle . 2005 plate Chevrolet Tachuma

more likely one of the wheel speed sensor is bad.
you can however, check the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder, check all the fuses and also check to see if the third brake light ( center high mounted ) is working.
if all is good then you need to get your car to a shop to see what that light indicated. then they can tell you how much the fix will be

ABS light would come on and brakes would pulse only when turning left coming to a stop. Otherwise brakes worked fine. Fluid level good. Pads were only half worn but went ahead and replaced pads on all four...

This is your hub assembly that needs to be replaced. My ABS light has been on for a while and I've had this happen before and went away after I replaced it. DEFINITELY try to do it yourself since the part is only $100, to save $400 in labor at a shop.

Abs light stays on.

Typically on this model along with Q45's there is a built in sensor system. The factory pads come with a sensor, so when the pads are installed there is a wired plug that must be connected to the sensor mounted on the behind the rotor. This was designed to give you a visual warning that the brake pads needed replaced. However since most aftermarket pads for this vehicle do not come with sensors, the connector is left unplugged and the circuit is open causing the light to stay on. Another thing is to check the brake fluid level. Often times as the pads wear the fluid level goes down a little. Once it reaches a certian point it will cause the light to come on as well.

Mini cooper Warning lights for abs, low tire, traction comes on

Ok, check the brake fluid level for a start. This could mean a few things. Your brake pads might be worn down, which would bring a yellow warning light on(triangle), at the same time with the pads being low it will have displaced the fluid, making the level low, this would be a red light on. Now because of this the body control module has detected these faults, will have turned the abs off, hence the abs light.
If brake fluid is low, this could confirm my theory.
If its low, top up with dot 5 brake fluid and take to garage to have new pads fitted.
