You can't start this model without the correct key due to the anti theft immobilizer system. Older models (pre96) could be hotwired or a screwdriver to the ignition switch, but not possible on these it newer.
Even with the reprogrammed key's the engine would crank, it might not start but it would crank over so that leave's only one thing, your used ignition switch is bad.
If there are absolutely no problems of any kind, it may simply be a
reminder to remove your key. There's a transponder chip inside the key
and it is designed to not allow you to lock your keys in the car. Do
you only see the flashing green light when you are stopped and your key
is in the ignition?
This is a tricky area to diagnose, if there are any other issues. Have
you had any indication of intermittent power, due to your ignition
switch? Sometimes, weight from additional keys and from the fob can
cause wear in the ignition switch, which can lead to these problems.
Also, the main relay may be failing, which provides power to the
immobilizer. If you can rule out a problem with the ignition switch, I
would try replacing the main relay. Be sure to disconnect the negative
battery cable first, after recording any radio codes.
My bet is that it's a reminder to not forget your keys. Check your Owner's Manual.
first you have to be sure you car does not have an transponder key system , that is a chip inside the head of the key that sends a four digit code to a reciver in the car and activates the ignition so you can start the car, call the dealer and give them your vin number they should be able to tell you if you have this or not, another way to tell is remove the plactice trim around the steering colum and look around the ignition for a coil of wire this is the recivier antenna, if you have this system your only option is to get the car to honda to have a key made and they will reporgram the transponder key system, otherwise while you have the trim off take a look at it and you will know if you can handle it, and if you have the tools to tackle it. not very difficult if it is a normal honda non tranponder setup, but i think you may have the transponder good luck -jeff
