The block is drained when the radiator is drained. There is not likely a separate engine drain plug.

How to drain radiator 1998 chev blazer

Some years have drain plugs, others don't. Just unhook the bottom radiator hose to drain. OR, look on the passenger side, on the side of the radiator, up a few inches. Some models have plugs there.

A diagram of the flushing of a radiator and block of a chevrolet blazer LS 2000

Theres no such thing as a diagram, here are the draining instructions, hope this helps...
  • 1-Place a large drain pan beneath the radiator drain plug. The drain plug is located on the passenger side at the very bottom of the radiator on the engine side.

  • 2-Make sure the engine is cool. Open the hood of the truck and remove the radiator cap.
  • 3-Loosen the drain plug. On the 2000 Blazer, the drain plug is a wing-nut type of plug. Twist it with your fingers until the coolant begins to drain.

  • *To flush the block, once you have drained the radiator, run the engine for a bit untill the temp gauge goes up to normal, then the coolant will have been evacuated from the block. DO NOT leave the engine on, once it reaches normal temp, (this will happen quick) turn off right away, otherwise you'll be forking out a few hundred $$$ to fix the worped heads.
4-Tighten the drain plug with your fingers once the coolant has drained fully from the radiator. Remove the drain pan and dispose of the used coolant properly.
Some service stations will take and recycle your used coolant.
    Hope this helps...

Where is the drain plug for the radiator

Should be a drain **** at the bottom of the radiator that unscrews out. It looks like a wing nut has been welded to a bolt on the end of it. Another way to do this is just pull off the bottom hose.

I have a 98 dodge dakota 3.9L with a leaky frost plug. What is the best way to repair this problem?

The best way is to replace it. Anything else will just be temporary. To replace it, drain the cooling system first. Use a hammer and cold chisel or big screwdriver and tap on one spot on the edge to make it turn in the hole. With it turned grab it with vise grips and work it out. Have a bucket handy because it will leak. Place the new plug in the hole and tap around the edges to start it back in, and keep going until it is flush with the block. A light coat of silicone would be a help in sealing the new plug but don't get too carried away with it because you don't want excess silicone floating around in your cooling system to block passages. Hope this helps.

    1998 Blazer Transmission Pan Depth

If the pan is flat all the across it is a regular pan. If it has a step near the back edge and a circular indentation in a front corner (may have a drain plug in it) then it is a deep pan!

Locate engine block antifreeze drain plug

There is a 3/8" square head plug above the starter. This drains the left bank of the block and can be replaced with a 1/4" pipe valve.
