No power to radio 2008 dodge caravan - 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan

  • Anonymous Mar 08, 2013

The mechanic wanted to replace the stereo in my 2008 Dodge Carivan for $300+. I just tried holding down the time button like was suggested here and now everything works perfectly again. THANKS, I am so happy!

Easier than disconnecting battery or pulling fuses to reset the radio.

was told by dodge mechanic to take off battery cable for 10 minutes and put back on.

It worked on my 2008 caravan now my radio is working

  • Anonymous Jan 07, 2011

sounds good. i accidently got mine to work. tried pressing all the buttons around the radio and found that holding the TIME button for a second or two made the time come back on and then i pushed the on button for the radio and it came back on. go figure. i tried every thing before that. dodge was no help to me. thanks

My 2008 Dodge Caravan seemed to have no power going to the stereo unit, nothing on it was on anymore even the clock which is usually always on. I just tried the hold the TIME button thing, and it worked for me too!!

SOURCE: Replacing side mirror on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

SOURCE: I have a 2008 Dodge Caravan. My gascap was loose

The light has to be actively turned off because the code will not necessarily clear itself. Sometimes it can be done by disconnecting the battery for an hour. If that doesn't work, it'll have to be done with a garage's scan tool.

SOURCE: 2008 dodge caravan 31k miles. I devevelped a drining hum.

Since you are still under warranty, I suggest getting your transmission checked at a dealer. We had to get ours replaced at about 28M miles. It was making wierd noises, especially in a parking lot at low speeds and when turning slowly.

There is no dipstick for the transmission fluid on our model :(

If you recently changed tires, then that could possibly be the noise too.

I was wondering if you could tell me how to remove my 2008 dodge caravans back up camera

I'm not sure how to remove it, but you can just turn it off in the options on the radio console. If you are just not wanting to see it.
