Check fuel pressure. Check scan data. I would have Jag shop check it out.

My mitsubishi challenger keeps dying when i go up the hill or downhill. i've changed the fuel pump but the problem is the same. sometimes its difficult to start the engine..

Check the condition and/or operation of the following:

1) Spark plugs, coils and leads.
2) Air filter
3) Fuel filter.

Please report back if no findings.

When i go up a hill or any slope i can feel that my winstar is back fireing. the rpm's like jump up and down like it is struggling. i recently changed spark plugs and wires. what else can it be.

Generally speaking when a car stalls out going uphill, a few things come to a mechanical mind.

1. Going uphill produces a strain on the engine and drive components, if you have the old points and coil type vehicle one could suspect a faulty ignition coil as the culprit.

2. A vehicle on an incline may be low on fuel and thus stalls on a hill because it is starving for fuel on this incline.

3. A faulty float inside the float bowl of your carburator may be the problem.

Car want pulls hills or any inclines vey well 2005

P0304 code is a cylinder 4 misfire. If the plugs or wires are bad it will cause a decrease in power. I suggest changing the plugs and wires and see if that helps.
