Is it the brake light or the tail light? Does it go out when you pull back on the brake pedal?
The problem is the brake pedal switch. It is more than likely a spacer on the switch that has come off. The other problem could be the switch itself. Both are cheap to fix, but getting to the switch is a tight squeeze.
Solution #2 was correct for my 83 accord. I glued the rubber piece back in with shoe goo but his idea is a good one that should work. It's hard to get in position to work on this. A platform of some sort outside the open driver's door, to lie part way on, helped me.
Had the same problem on my 1994 honda accord there is a rubber piece on the brake pedal that pushes in the switch for the brake lights to turn off. and what happen to mine was the piece fell through the hole that is on the brake pedal so the switch stayed pushed out causing the brake light to stay on. my switch was still good so i just put a screw in the hole on the brake pedal so when i release my brakes the screw will push the switch in
