I drive s similar year 325i with the same engine, average approximately 28 miles per gallon of spirited driving. You should get between 26 and 30 depending on how aggressively or conservatively you drive. Use mid or premium grade gas and you'll get slightly better fuel mileage.
p1727 is crank sensor fault.
u114b torque controller failed,
now the sensors fault for the crank might be false this can be that the u114b is not relaying the signal, it could be the cable to the auto box, you would need to locate the wire and socket under the car and see if its connecting properly, muck and road wash can damage the seal on the connector and let water in.

Simple this happens many time either cransensor failed or came loose and is hitting the harmonic balancer. If this sensor fails you will crank and not start, another is cycle the key do you hear the fuel pump come on (it in the trunk area)
go to fuel rail and will have bolt on the end (CRACK) this bolt open and (BUMP) key should have fuel spray if pressure is present let me know and please rate this
The oil should be changed every 4,000 miles. You can keep a log of the mileage at each oil change, or just divide the total mileage by 4,000. Change the oil at 40,000...44,000...48,000...etc.
Hi the crank shaft sensor is located just above the front pulley at the front of the engine and is held in place be a 5mm hex bolt, undo this and remove the sensor then you will need to follow the wire that dissapears under the intake manifold and unplug the multiplug, replacement is the reverse, regards mark
