We just replaced all the brake lines on our 2000 Concord. We bled the brakes, but still don't have great brakes. Is there steps we needed to take when we bred the brakes. The brake light is also on. Patricia

When bleeding a break system have one person pump the breaks around 10 times and hold the pressure to the break peddle while the other person loosens the bleed screw......The peddle will then go to the floor..............Hold to the floor until the bleed screw is tightened again and repeat until no air is in the line............Repeat for all breaks and always check the master cylinder for low fluid level and top up.................Hope this helps you out.

My 2000 Grand Prix the brake pedal just went to the floor. What is wrong :(

It could be that your brake fluid reservoir is empty. You might also have a crack in the line.

2001 Silverado 2500 HD Why Rear brakes don't work after I installed new hydro-boost power booster, master cylinder, calipers, and pads. I bled master cylinder before installing, and brakes beginn

Hello Patricia,

Have you checked the master brake cylinder reservoir for brake fluid loss?

I don't suspect the master cylinder as you have replaced it... but am more suspect of a leaking brake line or fitting which should have
been discovered when you had the system bled.

The only time I ever had a rear brake problem with a 2500 series Chevrolet was due to seized rear brake caliper guide pins...as your calipers are also new that is not your problem.

If your brake pedal feels spongy and travels to the floor board you have air in the system, a brake fluid leak or a failure in the power steering system, such as a broken hose, broken power steering pump drive belt, or failed pump, would result in a loss of pressure to both the hydro-boost and steering.

New brake pads installed and still the brake pedal still goes all the way down and it sounds like the air is on but its coming from the brakes n i bled the brakes but they still don't work.

Check the following:
Fluid level in master cylinder is at correct level - between min and max marks or just below the bottom of the cap. If fluid level is okay then was master cylinder very low on fluid recently? If so it may have air trapped in it. Most master cylinder's these days need to be "bench bled" first.

However, the most likely problem is the seals in the master cylinder are bad. You will have to replace it. Another possible but rare problem could be the rubber section of a brake line is "ballooning" when you step on the brake.

The air noise you hear is most likely vacuum from the brake booster, which is normal.
Hope this helps.

Hose leaking brake fluid. under drivers side . just put in new brakes and rotors

If the brake calipar was left hanging by the hose instead of being tied up,that puts a strain on the hose and the brake line causing it to crack or break. The hose needs to be replaced, and the brake system bled of air.

Brake pedal goes to floor on first depression; then pumps up fine

Try this, apply the emergency before stepping on the brake.
If this helps the pedal, the rear brakes are out of adjustment.

My brakes don't work right on my 2000 T&C

It could also be the master cylinder, I changed one that had the same problem, brakes were fine afterwards.
