I am having some idling problems with my 1991 Toyota Previa (162K). It doesn't occur every time it starts but most of the time. Seems to have started perhaps with the onset of warmer weather. I took it to a place where I had some brake work done and they said they didn't have the right diagnostic "hook up" to read the problem and recommended I take it to a Toyota place.
Most likely a vacuum leak, but please read thru my tips at the link below.

the fuel pump in my 99 4runner isnt getting power. I changed the fuel pump and the efi relay. the 20amp efi fuse doesnt have any power to it but the relay does have power. fuel pump wont turn on when turnin the key in the ignition. what could be the problem?

If it runs fine and the idle is the only problem you could try idling it up some with the idle set screw on the throttle body it sounds like it may be a little bit out of time those toyotas have a fine lins on the timing.

the same is happening to mine, the only way to get it to stop running rough is to give it more gas, and it sometimes is slow to respond to that, and mine seems to be with weather changes even the next day(cold to hot and reverse)
same probs changed air filter, oil change, still persists
have been told to clean carb, keep posted.
Try checking the IAC or idle control valve on the side of the unit. It can get fouled or just quit working giving you a pulsating idle or just idle fast.
