2007 Audi A4 Convertible Logo
Anonymous Posted on Nov 19, 2010

I bought a 2007 A4 Audi Cabriolet Quattro convertable a few months ago. I am very disturbed at the fact of the terrible vibration it has when stopping or idling. We have had it to the dealers twice and they have informed me there is nothing wrong with the car. I don't feel a car of this caliber should be doing this. Do you have any ideals of why it would vibrate? We use the gas and add additives to the gas like ther dealer instructed us to do. Please help, I am getting very discouraged over this.

There are no check engine lights coming on. Had it to the dealer the other day for this problem and after all the computer type tests on it they told me this is a problem common in the Audis and just something the Audi does. I can't see that this vibration is something that is normal for these cars.

Is your check engine light on? Some of these cars will show a picture of a triangle and not the check engine light, If so, Check the codes Also try new spark plugs warm the engine before replacing the plugs they come out easy that way.

have you checked your calipers? They may be sticking putting lots of strain onto the drive shaft causing it to vibrate.

With all the recent snow and grit on the roads you may have some caught in the mechanism meaning it cant release.

Just a small thought to start to determine the problem.

Audi A4 2.5 TDi 2003 Quattro - Glowplugs not getting power

There is a relay which will make a `clunk` noise under the bonnet.
It can be heard a few seconds after the glow plug light on your dashboard goes out.
I would suggest that this is the problem. You may have to buy a new one. Very easy to do.
Quite cheap as well.
