Blinker problems with my 1999 Isuzu trooper

Hello, the blinkers and flashers are not working on my trooper. I have checked the fuses and they seem fine. They work every now and then, which makes me think something is loose somewhere, etc. Please let me know if you have any advice for me on this.

Thanks,

    none of turn signals work on my 1998 Isuzu Trooper. I believe it is the flasher relay but can not find where it is located. Already checked both fuse boxes but no luck. Can anybody provide some help and guidance? Thanks!

In the fuse box there will be those black boxes, they are called relays, there will be one of them for the flasher. You could swap this with a known good one (AC or something) and see if that helps your problem

I had the same problem with my Trooper. After going through all the normal fuse/relay checks, I fixed it by pulling out the light bulb and cleaning the connection in the light socket. I haven't had a problem since. Maybe this will work for you.

Check the relay for the Tail lights. It's the same relay on my Isuzu Trooper 1995 for the Tail and Blinker Lights.

Need a diagram for how to find the flasher in a 1999 dodge stratus..it's not in the fuse boxes

Simple method without mystery:
  1. Turn blinker flashers on;
  2. Listen for clicking;
  3. Find source of clicking. It is the flasher. :)
NOTE: Emergency flashers and blinkers usually use a separate flasher unit, but one is close to the other. If your blinkers do not work but your emergency flashers do, find the emergency flasher unit by finding the source of clicking, then locate the blinker flasher nearby. They will ALWAYS be underneath the dashboard on the driver side.

Flasher repair

First, check your bulbs by starting up the vehicle and turning on the blinkers, then go around to check them. Also check to see if your emergency flasher work.
The fuses are either behind the glove box or under the dash on the driver's side.
Look on fixya, someone had the same problem back in April and several ideas were posted.
Good luck!

Turn signals blin continually

There is only a few things that can cause blinkers to blink continually, meaning if your saying they wont shut off, Normally it is the blinker flasher or a fuse. Sometimes it can be in the blinker switch itself. I first would check the flasher, and turn signl fuse. If the blinker stays on and does not flash, still can be bad flasher or fuse or a ground problem, You would then have to check the wires around area where there contact to the tail light blinkers and front blinkers. But first start as said earlier with checking flasher fuse, switch and fuse. Mike

TURN SIGNAL, BRAKE & HAZARD LIGHTS

No Turn Signal Operation (blinker)The turn signal lights in your car are a basic electrical system that controls the front and rear blinker lights to alert the intended direction of the vehicle. We have listed some of the most common problems and repair troubleshooting tips below:
Troubleshooting Procedure
To start troubleshooting this problem:
  • Turn the key to the on position (do not start engine)
  • Inspect the system fuse located in the fuse panel and replace if needed. If you cannot find the location of the blinker fuse consult your owner's manual or an online repair manual
  • When a blinker flasher fails it can cause blinker lights to say on, not blink, or not go on at all. To test the blinker system flasher, remove the flasher unit and insert a jumper wire between the two terminals. If blinker stays on in both directions without blinking, replace the flasher. If you cannot find the location of the blinker flasher consult your owners manual or an online repair manual.
