I have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. My son ran the battery down and my wife had to get it jumped to get it started. I found out later that they initially tried to hook the battery cables to the red and black cables leading into the fuse box. After getting the car jumped, the car has the following electrical problems:
1. Radio will not work
2. Electric locks will not work
3. Windows will not work
4. Interior lights do not work
5. Cigarette lighter does not work
6. A/c does not work. The blower does work
7. Dash lights do not work
I checked the fuses that you can visually inspect in both places and did not see any blown fuses. Since this happened after attempting to jump the car in the wrong place, I am assuming that this is the cause of the problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mark
Hey everyone with this problem! Theres a fuse under the hood in the front of the fuse box. Its black and its not in the bow itself but under the cover though! two nuts hold it in place where your cable line comes in from the battery. The fuse costs $15.00 avg. most anyplace! Easy to change and everything will work inside your vehicle! Without it the vehicle will start and run but you will have no functions on the interior, or dash!

I kept blowing headlights/burning headlight connections so I went to autozone and purchased a high output extender and had my local shop put cut the old connectors off and install the high output(higher voltage) connectors for about $20... fixed the problem.
Hate to say it but jumping it the fuse relays may have damaged the vehicles fuse panel. even though no fuses appear to be blown too much current through a regulated power source shorts out wires, connections, terminals and lord knows what else. only real solution i can give you is take that car to a mechanic. and give your son the bill.
Unfortunately I had the same problem with my 06 TB. Finally took it to the dealer out of fustration that I couldnt find a fuse or relay labeled for the accessories. They found and fixed the problem. Under the left passenger seat UNDERNEATH the fuse box there is a hidden fuse for the accessories so they told me. Hopefully this helps. Dealer charged $9 for the part.. $80 for the labor LOL. Hope this helps.
I had same issue "jumped" the fuse box. For the moment I have replacedthe 125amp fuse with a 175 amp until I can get a 125amp replacement. This also confirmed for me that this is the fix too!
I could not find the part locally, but I did find it online at AdvancedAuto > http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=LIT&MfrPartNumber=MEG125&PartType=669&PTSet=A
Also found another blog with same issue and a photo to help you with identifying the 125amp fuse for the non-technical folks > http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=49965
Changing the fuse worked! thanks people. saved me hunders of $$$$
Same problem = $860.00 - 4 modules and a actuator fried on the air.
Check your main fuses. they dont look like regular fuses but are bolted in place. you should be able to see through little window in fuse if it is good but if you know houw to use a volt meter touch black lead of volt meter to ground and red lead to one side of fuse should go to 12 volts. touch red lead to other side and should go to 12 volts. if it doesnt fuse is bad.
SOURCE: Interior light or cigarette lighter not working,
That's where a $5.00, 12 volt test light comes in handy. All you have to do then is touch tip on ends of fuses to see if they are good or not. No pulling fuses and no head scratching wondering which one it might be. If you have power on one side, but not the other, you found the blown fuse. It certainly is not uncommon to find the bad fuse, labeled wrong, or added in with something else that makes no sense at all.

I actually had the same issue.
Did you end up finding out what the problem was?
I got the same problem this morning, did you get your fixed and what was the damage/cost please let us know. thanks
My girlfriend did the same, Is there any specific identifiable solution??
I have a 2004 Trailblazer and continuously blow headlights on the passenger side. I replaced teh headline with a GM brand and it lasted longer but it's out AGAIN! Also at night when I drive I notice the headlights will periodically dim, then come back up. I am concerned it may be an electrical issue as my back speakers kick out also then will come on with no notice.
I have the same problem with my passenger side headlights blowing. Upon further inspection, it looks like the electrical wires to the headlamp are overheating and burning. I also experience the lights dimming at night.
I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THE INTERNET! thank you guys. i found the fuse, took it out. i will replace it in the morning and let you know if it works.
that was dumb of chevy. putting the darn thing right there by the battery with a red cable going to it. duh.
thanks a million! i'll keep you posted.
